Killing cow king infinite times

I have an idea.

Not sure if it will work though. The problem is that the secret cow level in hell is a very good place to mf, but cow king makes some good drops. So, but if you kill him you can't open the portal. So I was thinking that maybe if:

1. Character A (who have not killed cow king) finds the leg, and opens the portal, then leaves the game (make sure that its permed).

2. Character B (who have killed cow king) joins the game, takes the portal, then kill kings and leave.

3. Repeat steps 1-2 over and over again. Will it work?

Yes, works just fine. As long as the portal is open, any character that has killed baal in that difficulty may enter. If you have 2 cdkeys you can save time and do it a lot quicker by not having to perm the game.

The cow king really isn't that good as far as MF goes though, I would just as well go and kill the council a bunch of times to get similar items. Cows level is usually run for socketables and runes.

Yes, it works and it's actually how I usually do Cows. BTW, character A doesn't have to retrieve the leg, he's just needed to open the portal. He can also stay in the game, he just has to stay out of the cow level.

I think you'll realize that, in the same time-frame, you will get more runes and better wealth if you were to run travincal instead of cows - especially if you're using all the gold that is dropped to gamble. So if you're after efficiency, I would suggest doing travincal instead.

I'm going to make a character, say uberkiller or goldfind barb, and then open the portal with them, and then enter with my sorc to kill everything, including the cow king.

I do this all the time with my mf/key run sorc. After running all the usual places I'll open up a cow level and send my bow/javazon in there. Although I don't mf in the cow level, instead I look for socketables, flawless gems and runes.
