Jav advice

I decided to start up with a Javazon as my first char on B.net. Right now she is level 56 and just starting Hell.

Here are her stats and skills:
Str 55
Dex 115
Vit 115
Ene 15

Jav and spear Tree
Jab, Power, Charge, Bolt, Poison, Plaque = 1 pt each
LF = 20

Passive
Inner, Slow, Decoy, Pierce, = 1
Penetrate = 2
D/A/E = 4 pts each
Critical = 5
Valkryie = 13

Only Items I have at note is a Skin of the Flayed One and a Blood Mark ammy.

My char is very weak due to her lack of good items, especially at weapon.

I'm up for anything right now, and I am going into this knowing my equipment will be lacking for a while.

mmm I would start maxing charged strike because that skill is going to pack a punch no matter what your gear looks like.

You will also need to put more points into pierce. I think you feel you are weak at the moment because you have put skills into stuff that is not as important as CS and pierce. Though eventually you should be fine, right now you are going to have some problems. your next 26 points should go in CS and pierce.

I also think you can get titans for a handful of pgems

Re: Jav advice

What would you suggest be my second elemental damage attack if you suggest one at all?

I would suggest eventually u put a point into freezing arrow, but poison is not going to be effective. You should concentrate on getting your main damage up. For now I would try and get some titans and just use them for jab.

Re: Jav advice

Check out Fishy's guide (http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=464188), it's very good and it says there that you don't need uber gear. I'm building a fishyzon atm, she's reliable, although I admit I'm very cautios and have done a lot (I really mean a lot) of leveling through normal Baal runs. 2-3 normal Baals on p8 will give you a full level and should be easy with your maxed LF and a few points in CS, for poking the big fella himself. I did about 60 or so runs and was lucky enough to find my second Titan's, and an eth Kelpie, which is good should you decide on a Act2 merc.
I am still thinking of the best skill for second attack, against LI's, divided between FA and strafe, the last one requires a good bow though, if you don't have one, go for FA, as it relies purely on skillpoints. The main problems will be that it is expensive (22 skill points, or 40 with CA for synergy) and addicted to mana pots.

I don't know if you realize but he has invested too many skills in passives to pursue that build.

Re: Jav advice

I'm just implying that right now I don't have access to any real gear except what I find on the floor or what is donated.

I'll see what she looks like in about 10 more levels and decide whether to start another from scratch. I do like a lightning/freeze combo, so I may do that.

Thanks for the advice!

@tinncann25
Yes, my friend, I realized that :)
I was thinking that, by level 84, when most chars finish Hell, he'll have a total of 32 skill points. A Mat Bow with +3 bow/xbow tree is not that hard to find, which means that he can get away with fewer points invested in the FA/CA combo (Nightfish's guide covered this aswell), let's say 14-15 FA, 4-5 CA, 1 Ice Arrow, which leaves some points for CS. The build would not be perfect, but I think it's a starting point for MF'ing, since Harpua said he has no gear. NM boss running with this character is doable, in my opinion.

Re: Jav advice

I think I might just start a new zon and go from there. One question: What is the ideal stat point allocation? I pump most in Vit and Dex with a little bit in Str, but what do I need for the minimal armor/weapon requirements.

Sorry for sounding like a newb, but I just don't play that much :)

Re: Jav advice

Depends. What shield will you be using.

Assuming a high block shield (I've used eld'ed whistan's shield to good extend): str for gear, dex for max block and rest in vit.
Assuming low block sheild (spirit or Lidless Wall): str and dex for gear, rest in vit.

Note about mana: when playing untwinked, putting points in energy to cope with mana may seem interesting, and it will help. Yet before you do that, consider option such as mana after each kill through rings/tir, mana charms or sockets with sapphires, mana charms.
Note about shield: if you don't have any gear, consider going for rhyme. It offers some very nice mods (not sure if I would go max block with it though).

Truly idea would be 0 strength. I would suggest you put enough points into strength for titans (55). However if I were you I would put enough for spirit (156), but not right away, instead save stat points until you make up your mind. In general dex isnt going to be an issue, pump enough to wear titans then leave it alone. As for vit, it will be everything else.

Re: Jav advice

I started a new char and will go LF/CS and CA/FA as my main damage.

Ill forgo 2/3 of the passive tree and stick to critical and pierce.

I like the rhyme runeword and will try to make one when I get the chance.

Re: Jav advice

Here is an update and another couple of questions....

I'm now at level 72 and in Hell.

Stats are as follows:
55 str
115 dex
175 vit
15 ener

80 points saved

Skill Points:
1 = jab, PS, PJ, PLJ, LB, Ice Arrow, Penetrate, Pierce
3 = Critical Strike
12 = Cold Arrow
18 = Lightning Fury
20 = Charge Strike, Freezing Arrow

EQ
Weapon - Titans and Blastbark Bow
Shield - Ward Shield, or Whiststans Guard
Head - Rare Coronet, +8%LS , +23 Cold res
Armor - Skin of the Flayed One
Hands - Magnus' Skin
Feet - Gorefoot
Waist - Razortail or Chanceguard
Ammy - + 1 Zon skills +8 Res all
Ring - Manald Heal/Nagel/Cathans

Right now I can cycle NM Mephisto no problem, but I'm not getting much xp.
Soloing Hell is problamatic with my bow and limited +mana steal and Cold damage.

Should I keep saving up my points in case i want a Stormshield or should I just pump into Vit?

Is cycling NM bosses the way to go at this point for better eq?

Re: Jav advice

If you aint Hardcore, then a SS isnt needed. Spirit would do so much more for you. Belt, go with Razortail all the way. The Pierce helps both your LF and FA ALOT. Seems like you are on a low budget.. I would then reccomend Wizendraw bow(up to -35enemy cold res) and you could get a -5/+X cold facet quite cheap at this stage of Ladder(-res is more important than +damage)

Get a merc! Try getting an et elite polearm weapon and make an Insight. An eth Obediance is a fair choice also, since it gives high physical damage and CB. You merc would do a fait bit of killing for you then.

Just try getting as much +skills as you can. A Walkyrie Wing helm is veery cheap, so is a +2skills gloves.
