He actually found a very nice 3 Sok Archon Plate and JAH... I would love to find either one... It's improbable that you would actually find every piece of every runeword you make...

So the question is, who is to be blamed if a traded rune goes poof.
It's just like reality. If you have things like stolen property, forged artwork or money etc., even without knowing that, you can't blame the police if it gets confiscated and it's not their fault if you don't get a refund. It will be your job to find the guy and sue him.

This really just get too complicated... since you will get very biased when you see it from different point of views... such as someone traded their hard-earned items for the duped runes, etc. I do wish that they can find a way to help out.
But, I am standing more on Blizzard's side this time, as they have been talking/warning people for a long time regarding the danger of trading with strangers.

Agree, the best way would be to have the Rust Storms run so often that people could rely on that anything they get was "real".
Second best was to now how old it had to be before you could be sure.
I think that the dupping is taking ALL the fun out of the game, and in my oppinoin people who dupe should have there license number canseled (i.e. not be allow to play anymore). BUT on the other hand I would like to be able to trade. And now that is rather hard because you don't know if it's a real thing.

If Bliz/B.net could find a way to eliminate dupes at the source then this problem could possibly be fixed... Such as an item being deleted at the moment it is created... I know that the rust storm is an improvement over the way things were back in .09 but I too have had high runes poof on me shortly after trading for them...
Trading with strangers is a necessity to survive within the economy on the realms... Even if you traded only on forums you are still trading with people you don't know... From my experience they are more trustworthy for the most part but still strangers none the less...
Banning the cd keys of dupers will only slow them down for a short period of time... I don't want to get into a war about selling/buying items for cash but look at it realisticly... If someone goes out and dupes a couple mules full of high end runes then chances are they are selling them on *insert unmentioned auction site here*... People do buy from them or they wouldn't be doing so in the first place... With the money made they can easily afford to go out and buy a new copy of the game and start again...
Conclusion: The only true way to play safely is to play single player... Honestly I believe that takes the majority of the fun out of this game... IMO D2 is slowly dying... Hopefully it won't end up as D1 did at the later parts of it's reign...

Don't you agree that you should be able to trade and not worry about the item being cheated? If you really want an enigma and have the funds you should be able to create one in my opinion, without worrying whether it's duped. Reality however makes this impossible unless you find it yourself. But yea it's kinda annoying if you tried to trade for one rune with a trustful person, found the other and the armor, only to find it poofing later.tooie1 said:
