Intro to Sorceress Zahra

Dredd (uh, or was it Gorny?) suggested I introduce myself to those wondering who I was...

Well... I'm a Sorceress. Actually, my char preference is Sorcs. But my goal is to get one of each hero type through each difficulty level of the game - which is why I'll pop up in all sorts of forums asking questions about all sorts of hero types.

I'm also a junkie for information not really necessary for gameplay, but critical for role-playing the world... like is Kehjistan an Empire? Who lead the Horadrim - a council or one person? What's the difference between the Viz-Jaq'taar and the Khral-Harzhek? What was Jerhyn's father's name? Who originally built the Seven Tombs? Okay, you know what I mean...

As far as me, personally...

Age: 25

Gender: Female (I find it most amusing that even though my moniker is "Sorceress," some people still assume I'm male :xmas8: )

Location: In the mountains in Idaho near Yellowstone - beautiful views, tons of snow... makes me wish I could get out in it.

Realm: I sometimes play USEast under the account name of Zahra Surayya with various chars. I usually stick to SP - I'm a control freak, and since I can't steal Mephisto's mind-control orb or find Sankekur to make me one, playing nicely with others is hard...

Why do I play this game? I don't know. Good way to relieve stress, perhaps? I like accumulating material possessions? My computer is the only real freedom I have left? There are plenty of reasons, I suppose. Including a theory that this game has some sort of code written into it that's supposed to make people addicted - sure seems to have that affect :xmas9:

Oh, yes, I'm the person who has the impossible "Large Charm of Strength" which gives +133 to Str and +5 to Mana. I'll reiterate what happened, to those who don't know the story: I had a Large Charm of Strength with +2 to Str and wanted to mule it. Saved it, forgot about it, was muling again a couple of hours later and saw it. Didn't need it, so transferred it to Stash to chuck it for geld. Upon reentering the game, saw that it had become the mega charm. I swear on all I hold sacred, I never purposefully hacked, touched, or otherwise messed with the charm - I don't even know how to try that. It just... happened. Not knowing the charm I now had was impossible, I started using it - after all, it took care of my char's Str needs up through NM lvl. Then I posted "ATMA Gave Me A Christmas Present" in the Community Forum, and a huge debate broke out about hacking versus using a lucky accident.

I hold that it was a lucky accident, and I don't intend to delete the charm. It's only used on the one char, an SP who will never go MP. As far as my trading here... If such a time comes when I find I need to trade, and the condition is that my charm must go... well, if that's the rule, then it'll go. I'm not a cheater. But I have to admit, if a thousand dollars drops in my lap, I'll glance around to see if anyone's frantically searching, but if they're not... well, I do have bills to pay.

I'm on my computer pretty much 24/7... I deal with an illness which produces excruciating pain all over, as if an industrial mining bulldozer has parked on top of me. No doctor can figure it out yet. I used to love climbing and caving and nature hikes, but I rarely feel well enough to leave the house anymore. So I game, hack demons on my computer, and label the Prime Evils as the source of my illness and get some satisfaction out of slaying them time and again.

I used to write, until the pain made me feel too bad to do so. I gave it up. The the fan fiction site here made me start thinking. I've published one "short" - Raising Cain. I should have another done this upcoming week. I'm also working with several others on the Diablo 2 RP in the Community Forum.

I've found this site to be awesome, the people great. I think I've made myself a little nest here <snuggles down, wraps up in a fur from Harrogath in front of a crackling campfire>.

Cheers! :xmas32:

welcome to the SPF mylady!
is there anything i can do for you?

<Glances around, then whispers:>

Is it a bad thing to play on USEast with a password game so it's a SP game?

<Glances around, pretends to act normal>

PS: Nice avatar... looks very familiar.

Welcome to the Single Player Forum! It's good to see mature, nice people joining this wonderful community.

Writing is an admirable talent, I wish I could write as well. I sometimes feel like doing so, but I neither have the skill, nor the patience, nor the idea. Nature sports is also very cool, especially in such a beautiful place.

I felt very sorry about your illness. Though I'm a med student in Turkey, it's only my second year in the 6 year med school, and we hardly have any clinical knowledge :( Might still ask my professors about your symptoms...

I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. Read the stickies & FAQ, have fun in the EMB and hopefully you'll get some inspiration about the RPG side of the game. Oh, and I don't think that charm's worth shadowing your accomplishment...

Meh, where did equal rights go? ;)

*first claws hamburger's shins three times to charge up Tiger Strike*
*kicks hamburger's shins with Dragon Tail while wearing upped Gore Riders*
*does 40k damage to hamburger's shins*

Now that that's taken care of...

Always nice to have more elite uniques in the SPF! Can never have too much of those, never. Also it seems that you do the same thing as I did when I played in B.Net, "simulate" SP.

May your, and all other elite unique's, drops be lime and burlywood.

Also, :xmas10: to everyone!

LOL.

Welcome, a new EU is always better. Enjoy your stay. :xmas10:

Wow, friendly bunch! Thanks ye much, fellow isolationist adventurers!

Ladies must be a rarity here, to receive EU status :xmas8:

Say, what's with the tournament stuff here? How can SP's compete?

I play BNet Ladder only so I can have fun with the nice runewords :xmas16: I doubt I'll ever have the char str or talent to take on PvP challenges <sigh>

PS - Just an additional bit of info, I love the James Bond 007 movies. Silly movies, high body count, plenty of violence. And Alien and Aliens - can't have a world without those two. Have to have my daily quota of violence :xmas1:

Terribly sorry for the Vegameister's late appeareance, but it was worth the wait :D

If only the one true French-lover-boy, aka the french weasel, aka Waimea was still here, he'd give you a REAL welcoming message, the way only those darn stinky toad-eaters can....

But back on topic!

It's truly a blessing having such interesting, mature and of course, female  persons join our little corner of the www.

I've seen and heard so much about Yellowstone park that it's definitely one of my top 5 places to visit, once I get the chance. Absolutely amazing place, and you are very lucky to behold such views around you :)

As for bond movies, my wife is a totally crazed fan of the series, and as we have pretty much the entire collection at home here, I was forced to watch the majority of them as well  Not really my cup of tea though, as I much more prefer the more horror/thriller with an out-of-the-blue, what-the-hell ending to it ^^

I wish you a quick, and hopefully painless recovery from your situation, and I hope everything will be well for you, whether here on the SPF, or in that outside world people like to call real life...

Hi Zahra,

Nice to meet you here on the SPF! First time reading after 1 1/2 weeks so I wonder what happened to Nharim ;)

NICE CHARM btw!!

grz,

TB
