insight weapon and a2 prayer merc synergy worth it?

hey... i heard recently that if I put an insight on an a2 prayer merc it will make his prayer aura go up dramatically? Is it worth it? Does the synergy actually work? How much life would it heal and how fast?

The bonus is the same as the Paladin Prayer bonus to Meditation. I won't say it isn't worth it, but don't expect being able to tank Fana Frenzytaurs because of it.

oohhh so that's why my aura was so high when we were doing ubers I thought it healed more than it usually did but I didn't know it was those merc's that were walking around there that did it XD

You can actually see that you get the double healing effect at the start of a new game when your Insight merc has not yet activatet his Prayer aura. You will recieve a healing bonus from the Meditation aura. This bonus will double when the merc activates its Prayer aura.

It's nice, as the double regen is really noticeable. It won't make you invincible, but it does make things easier and makes you less reliant on pots or leech. Whether or not it's worth it depends on what weapon/merc aura you would otherwise use, and whether or not the killing speed you might lose is made up for by the life regen.

It doubles the healing speed when he has Prayer active. Keep in mind, he only has, basically, like a 2% CTC Prayer on Attack, so it may take a while before he actually triggers it. Until then, you'll only get the bonuses from Meditation from Insight, which is the mana regen and the regular rate of his Prayer health regen, not the doubled rate.

The mana regen rate is never doubled.

Prayer+Insight works best for chars that dont take a lot of damage themselves, be that through avoiding combat (sorcs and ranged builds) or reducing damage (iPDR builds, ES sorcs). Its not enough by itself to keep you alive while tanking anything serious.

To me, it's completely worth it. I don't have to touch potions with it active.

However, it depends on the character you're using in my opinion.
