increased stash size, 1.13

If this has already been posted, feel free to properly scold/thrash me and I'll go back to my cave...

[BLUE="http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=16904296443&postId=171109027775&sid=3000#6"]It's coming along. We're still in the process of refining and testing the changes going into the patch. Work is progressing, we haven't stopped working on it or anything like that.

As far as information of what's being changed in the patch, almost anything we're working on now could be removed. Testing could deem any change unworkable and we'd have to remove it. By releasing any information on possible changes we'd be raising expectations that the change is guaranteed to make it in, no matter how many disclaimers we place on it. That said, one change we're planning is to increase the stash size to 12x10. As I said it is in no way a guaranteed change. Any number of reasons could mean it will not make it into the final patch. But enjoy the breadcrumb maybe?[/BLUE]

Yay? :jig:

Edit -

Put on your tinfoil hats... I wonder if the patch release will coincide with Blizzcon? Just a thought, maybe a milestone event like that would be a good opportunity for them to rally the community.

Sweet ;D

That's not a shared stash though, that's just a bigger stash. Or am I Mistaken?

Never mind, misread thread title.

Still good news! ;D

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

That's good - shared stash would, of course, be way better.

What is the current stash size? I could go on and check but am entirely too lazy to do so. :P

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

It really only makes sense to increase the stash. Limiting the size of the stash doesn't limit the amount of items a player will store. It just means he's going to create more mules and spend unnecessary time transferring items to store them all. A larger stash equates to more server space.

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

Indeed. Stash should be as big as possible and a shared huge stash would be even better.

Diablo is built upon the principles of hack and slash. You're supposed to fire the game up, make/join a game a kill endless hordes of nasties. Not waste your time constantly muling.

Plus, the less muling the less games made the less stress for the servers.

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

Incidentally, 12x10 is larger than what is available in PlugY, save for that combined multi-page stash

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

a multipage stash would be perfectly easy to implement (just like in plugy), and infinitely better. And a shared multipage stash = no more muling - never again.

But they prefer to keep saying "they wanted players to decide whether to keep or to throw away the item". Well it didn't work, and all we got was extra stress on servers and players keeping all the garbage anyway. GJ blizz on that one ~~

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

Looks like there are so many arguments for increased stash size, I can't see how they won't. Hoping for the best!

They should also implement a mailbox system, like WoW as well, for easier muling:)

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

Cool...larger stash is always welcome. And I agree with Harby, a shared stash would be very convenient. I would assume the shared stash to be only on one account at a time.

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

But remember there's always a downside, bots and item shops have a lot to benefit from a larger stash too

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

Okay, I am the only one thinking about? How on earth are they going to fit 12x10 if they're still going with 800x600 resolution? I mean, it isn't possible, there just isn't enough space on screen (if they don't use different squares with stash than with inventory, which would be silly since all the item sizes would have to be scaled also). Really, think about it. It's kind of tight with even the 48 squares stash size, but how they're going to fit 120 squares on the same size??

So.. does this mean bigger resolution also? (more on the resolution subject in here http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=726198 )

Re: increased stash size, 1.13

last i checked there was a pretty big border around the stash screen they could cut into easily. check out what the stash looks like in classic vs LoD and you'll see how easy it is to cut down.

I'm 100% sure that larger resolutions will be supported. If moders can do then so can blizz.

Though it would be possible to do 12x10 in standard 800x600. You're getting confused there, they could easily scale down the whole UI while maintaining 800x600. And of course they could also just remove the whole aesthetic borders around the stash.

See what I mean:

Thats 12x10 right there (default stash + red areas). And thats in 800x600 obviously. When you open the stash half the screen real estate is literally wasted on front-end/borders. Just remove some of it (make it thinner/smaller) and you have plenty of room to make stash bigger.

They could easily do 16x12 if they were to remove the majority of the art around the stash.
