Imbue quest always give staffmods?

I want to make a nice druid pelt. I read somewhere that imbue quest is very good for claws, as it always(?) give 3 staffmods. Does it hold for pelts? Also what clvl and ilvl would you suggest to imbue, if I want a +2 all skill +3 rabies pelt? And where should I look for a +3Shapeshifting +3 Rabies magic pelt?

Uzziah's in-game item alteration guide explained it quite well, but it seems to be down. Anyone have an alternative link?

Some interesting things there. For example an ilvl=99 item imbued has 60% chance to get 3 staffmods. Too bad those items cannot spawn white in 1.12...(well in 1.07 they can!)

But anyway with ilvl>80 you have a 50% chance to get 3 staffmods, and 30% to get two. Other interesting thing is that with the 6pskull recipe, you need a clvl 72 character to reroll +2 all skill pelts. (for this I digged up Magiclvl from armor.txt and made some calculations.) Also, I have a 0.4% chance for any staffmod to be +3 rabies. (It could be 1%, but then +2 all skill couldn't spawn) If I knew the exact chance of +2 all skill spawning, then I could tell the number of rerolls I need to get +5 or +6 rabies at a 90% chance.

But it's easier to collect those pskulls and make it, than calculating the exact chance. :crazyeyes:

When you imbue, ilvl is set to your character level + 4. (or to qlvl, whichever is greatest)
