I'm alive and thinking about "D3 on PS" Tuesdaily

Hello, I'm alive .

RL: I'm not playing anything or blog-posting stuff on forums because I have to "save my arms/stamina/whatever". After getting a semi-decent score in a test for a public job, I somehow qualified for the final test: typing.

The score is kinda irrelevant, since it doesn't affect your final score. It's more like a "pass/not pass" thing. (Don't worry, it isn't on English :) ) It's not that hard, but I'm praticing (and doing well at that) to type at a reasonable pace without lots of mistakes. For that reason, I'm avoiding games that makes your arms hurt a lot until March 16.

D2/D3/PoE/Minecraft/OVG: Like I said, I'm not playing anything. I'm kinda burned out of PoE, maybe I'll put more dedication on that later, to have some resources when the final version arrives. Same applies to D2/Minecraft (except the final version part). What I forgot? D3...

So, I can't stand the look of D3 and almost ragequitted after PS version announcement. However... The console version will be isolated from PC database and the "SC wealthy spiral economy thing". Even better? Offline mode and Local MP. Plus, it looks like the game is getting closer of a Release Candidate version with the whole crafting thing. Since I have lots of friends that are "sony fanbois :cloud9:" and I'll be able to play the game solo...

Doubts that keep me away from investing time on the PC version, plus the voice in my head saying "Fool me twice and the blame is on me". Because yep, I fell like I paid $50 to help the devs and beta test the PS version. And I didn't get a stupid bird to do that. While D3 fells lame as a "diablo game", it can work as a console "beat'em up" after proper fixing, especially with social features. Thoughts?

While this question is OT at is best, I would like to know what other SPFers think about it.

Always hated the PS3, load of rubbish for many reasons i will briefly state, MASSIVE SECURITY ISSUES! (This lead to me selling mine promptly the day after it hit the news), Lack of social interactivity, boring dashboard/homescreen thing , overpriced (when i got mine compared to the amazing 360) and the lack of games (honestly not that many when you compare to the xbox market. I did like some features though which i can see as the only 2 reasons to get one; blu-ray and free online.

D3 was a huge disapointment for me for graphically, playability, story, builds, 'always online' , economy destroyed.

So put the 2 together and i am far from wanting to play D3 on the PS.

Sorry for that.

RL: Seeing my girlfriend tonight, always nice, but she is busy with assignments so i may take my laptop and hit D2!

D2: As above, depends on her workload

OVG: Naaah

RL: work. Got some jobs to do, and I'll probably actually do them.
Probably going to go play racquetball tonight as long as I still feel up to it. I haven't played in about 2 months, since I hurt my shoulder.

D2: playing my tournament character in the green and gold.

OVG: Not any today.

PoE: played a lot this weekend and burned out a bit. Ill get back into it though, really like the game.

D3: This game is pretty dead to me now. I may come back someday, but it'll be with self found only. I'm logging in every day to sell off my gear, and then I'll be done. The nice thing is that I'll likely make enough to pay for the computer I bought to play it and the game itself. I don't regret most of the time I put into the game, as I mostly enjoyed it. But it's just not what D3 should have been. I actually think this game fits much better into the console market, as it's a much more casual arcade style game. I won't buy it there, though.

I don't have a PS3, but if I did I might try D3 on it... But I never will have one I think.

RL: Playing magic with friends. Calling in a prescription refill (asthma meds) for tomorrow.

D2: Grinding to lvl 85 on meteorb sorc in the Mausoleum before going to NM Meph for some item shopping.

OVG: Knytt Stories?

I also have a 6 digit DCI number. =)
But I have never been to a pro tour.

When did you start? I started playing in 94 but didn't get on the tour until 96. I never got into the top 8 on the tour, but dominated the local scene, got a shop to sponsor me and my partner for a few years. It was fun, I miss it.

RL: First Final next Monday. The next two are next Thursday and Friday.

D2: Maybe on the weekend for a few minutes or so.

D3: Glad I didn't get this at all.

OVG: Might pick up playing my TL:2 character during spring break in two weeks... or maybe start a new character in POE.

That must be some pretty damn leet gear to make that much cash.

Yea, if I sold it now it'd be like almost 1 grand

This is really cool! I loved magic back in high school. I played from about 98 to 2000. Never played in any tournaments, but I was pretty good locally. Still have all my cards though.

I've played in two pro tours as well (was national champion 2008), but never did well. My friend here from Stockholm got 2nd in the most recent PT a few weeks ago though, that was pretty cool. Sweden's first appearance in a final since 2005 or something ridiculous, was a lot of fun to cheer for him on the livestream with (among others) his roommate.

Is Olle Rade still on the scene? He was so much fun to watch. I remember him using the worst junk cards and destroying everyone. I swear he found his deck in the parking lot before the tournament and still dominated.

He still plays yeah, he's in the Hall of Fame so he plays a few PTs every now and then (auto qualified). Tends to do decently still.

RL: Cleaned the whole house properly for once. I usually just tidy up the dust from problem areas when it starts to bother me :D Couldn't really think of anything else to do because of reasons below.

D2: Not really as I broke my mouse yesterday. Right-click doesn't work properly anymore :(

OVG:
Played some Tekken 5 on my ps2, maybe I should get another controller for this thing. Partly because the one I have rattles when you shake it but mostly because it would be fun to play against friends instead of taking turns in arcade mode.

Also tried to play Jagged Alliance 2 but the game kept crashing whenever I set the time rolling on the world map.

I think that D3 will fit the console market better than the PC. I have a PS2 but not a PS3; cost mostly and really consoles don't provide the type of game that I want to play. Particularly as they seem to be going online a lot more and games being further online only. I was really looking forward to the new Sim City but further reading seems to indicate it is only online. Pass.

RL: OK. Ish. Apart from vets bills. Watching a film shortly.

D2: No. Reinstalled Windows and have to reinstall it. And my saves/stashes.

D3: Nope. See above.

OVG:

The Minecraft server I was playing on seems to have died. Which is fine because I was playing offline in a snapshot for ages and only just noticed. I'm waiting for 1.5 and the Redstone update before I start a few major projects in my offline single player world.

Star Trek Online I'm just logging in and doing assignments mainly. It doesn't really appeal; the missions take forever and the player knowledge base seems flaky. I considered Neverwinter but the way Perfect World International works (same company) makes me not want to give them any money. They want me to pay in Euros because I'm in the EU. We don't use Euros here. They want to charge me more in Euros than the US Dollar price because "It costs us money to transfer from Euros to USD". Then let me pay in USD. "We can't it's an EU regulation you have to pay in Euros." Show me that bit of legislation and everything else I've bought from the USA recently was happy to be paid for in USD. Silence. So I'm thinking if they act like that when you're trying to buy their game, they're going to suck donkey balls if you have a customer service issue. Second worst games company I've experienced. (First being NCSoft, obviously.)

Back to waiting for ESO.

Might have a look at Towns again and Timber & Stone. Don't Starve didn't really appeal. Algodoo could be interesting but I think it'll just confuse me.

I will try PoE again. Got to a populated area and looked at the skill screen and decided it was time for bed before tackling that!

RL: Missed class today but that's okay. I need to work on a lab report and study a bit. Glad the mafia game is over. :p

D2: Maybe a little bit since I'm bound to procrastinate anyway.

Actually, I still play Magic the gathering. A friend of mine is a store owner, so I mostly play limited formats to suport the store. I don't have time/money/patience (actually, I have the time...) to play standard, legacy and stuff. There's a league at local game store where we play with the release event card pool and add a pack (or two) every weekend. (Iirc, Wizards of the coast leagues last for 5 weeks, the store league is non-stop and restarts every release event). Inexpensive and fun.

Sometimes, we play "beer draft" :guiness:.

Please don't talk about MtG cause my heart hurts. I shouldn't have sold all my cards (I do miss the 4 beta sinkholes, the beta demonic tutor, foiled masticore, 4 black border hypnotic scepter, the dual lands... etc etc) :'(

Lol, magic fans all over the forum. Me included. I also sold my cards, or rather let my brother sell them. I was never very interested in becoming a great player but the artwork was awesome, especially the land cards. Should have kept some...
