Howd you pernounce "Zealot"???

I need this argument ended once and for all... is it pronounced Zay-lot Zell-it or Zeal-ot
sorry to bring such a pointless question to these awesome forums but Im sick of the arguments between my friends

I'm from the south, so I pronounce it Zee-alot (long, and drawn out at that. Weird, eh?)

The proper pronounciation is Zay-ell-ot, if im not mistaken.

Like, Jay, bell, lot (Except Zay, Ell, and Ot) It comes from an ancient jewish soldier. Or maybe it was arabic soldiers? (I forget the history, exactly. Though they mounted their last stand on a sacred hill against the roman legions, and as the legionaires broke through the wall, they were shocked to find every man woman and child already dead; of murder/suicide by the Zealots) Either way, the romans would have massacred them, so it doesn't matter. But that's how it's properly pronounced. You could also look it up on www.dictionary.com. That should tell you exactly how it's pronounced.
