How much dex/str for an untwinked trapsin?

This is my first expansion character, so zero twinking.

I will max Death Sentry, Lightning Sentry, Fireblast, Charge Bolt, Shock Web (last), and put one point into each skill on the shadow tree.

Would it be a good idea to pump enough into dex and str to wear the higher end claws? Or maybe equip a bow or something to deal with lightning/fire immune? What is a good number to aim for as far as dex and str go if I am not twinked?

Not entirely sure about the strength and dexterity issue, but IMO you don't need to equip another weapon for immunities. Hire a merc and get him some life leech and some damage and he will take care those immunities for you.

Will you be trading? If you trade, then it is very possible to get decent gear by the end.

Also, how much time do you want to shop? Blade Talons (50 str/dex) is a very viable option. The second spot to go to is 79 str/dex for Greater Talons (including Bartucs).

Fire/Lit immunes are rather rare, and Mercs tend to deal with them nicely. Use Psychic Hammer and/or Mind Blast to pin them down while your Merc dispatches them.

Conventional wisdom is to aim for 79/79 (Greater Talons) after bonuses. That's what I do too.

Remember that you can start buying +3 traps claw once at act 5 NM.

They can actually be shopped in Act 1 NM, given a sufficient character level.

Anya is a lot more convenient though.
