Hmm? 9 fram trap laying??

I've been going through the sticked IAS tables and, although it is definitely a great compilation, it has left me rather confused.
I am currently working on a c/c trapper using fade with the following claws:
Scissors quhab (WSM of 0) with 2os socketed with 2x 15 ias jewels and other mods (TOTAL: 30 ias)
Greater Talon (WSM of -30) of swiftness socketed with 1os shaeled (TOTAL: 50 ias)

I have read that only the ias on the primary claw affects the amount of IAS needed with lvl 0 BoS to attain 9 frame trap laying. If so, why do people recommend socketing a helm with 15 ias for trappers? Does ias on equipment have any affect?

Anyways, I assume that I should be using the Greater talon as my primary claw b/c it is faster. So:

(-30 + 0) / 2 = -15
I look up -15 on chart with 0 BoS and I find that I need 75 ias on my primary claw to hit 9 frame trap laying? Correct? I'm not too sure :)

Thanks for the input guys!

On a separate note, anyone know which type of A2 merc would most benefit a PvP trapper?

I'm not completely sure myself, but from my knowledge, I believe you would need 75IAS from your Primary claw + All Other Items (Helms, Gloves, etc) NOT including your off-hand claw. So you did indeed read the chart correctly.

So..if you had 30% IAS (NOT WSM) on your primary claw, you would need 45% IAS from your other items. This could be achieved for example: 15% IAS jewel in helm, 10% Goldwrap belt, and 20% from highlords. Of course, they are plenty other ways to achieve this.

Ideally, the claw with more IAS would be the primary claw (in your case the Quhab), and since the off-hand IAS claw doesnt count towards the trap laying speed, socketing it with a shael isnt a wise decision. Most trappers would look for mods like resists, skills, etc. on the off-hand claw.

To answer your other question, probably A2 nm defensive merc? since holy freeze slows other players.

Eh, mercs don't usually go with PvP, but suit yourself.

For the speed, you have -15 WSM (got that part. :)). Using Fade that means you need 75 IAS (got that part too, gj).

The part you missed was where the IAS comes from. It will count from anywhere except the secondary claw. So, take your claw with the most IAS, equip it first in your glove-side slot, and get the IAS from that and any other equipment slots (including shields, so long as you aren't dual wielding).

Hmm. Looks like that is another table error. JRichard's EIAS tables are all correct (as far as I know), but there are a few errors in the IAS tables. I think he just got something a bit wrong in the Excel formulas.

The answer is 80.
