Here's a challenge guys... PVP-LLDer

Hey guys i'm trying to think up a creative yet, sorta strong PVP Low Level Dueling build. i've got very little experience with this and with dueling to begin with. But i am looking for a little bit of change from the norm of just going through the motions and getting a character to level 82 then just kinda fading away and repeating the process all over again.I probably should not be jumping into this like so... However it seems that the cookie cutter build of LLDing is the assassin. I've never played a Sin and i'm looking for some creativity (and of course i just love druids so...)This was my original thinking for a Lvl 9 dueler which evolved like so....

I was reading the old Tao of poison guide on the links in the strategy compendium. And it seemed interesting how poison was more effect when dealt with a ranged weapon.

I thought about going with a Zon who used a 6 socket bow and multi-shot. the 6 sockets would be packed with 20 psn dmg/2 seconds jewels. and maybe packing more psn dmg jewels into the Helm and armor. But i don't think that'd be powerful enough to take down or drain some of the 450+hit points lvl 9 duelers.

SOO my thinking evolved into using a barb with 6 socketed war axes in each hand again socketed with 20/2 poison jewels... but then i figured without blocking he wouldn't last much longer either.

So i almost abandoned the lvl 9 poison jewels idea. Then I remember how wonderful Rabies works in PVP at high lvls... Sooo I thought hmm... What about a lvl 18 Rabies druid with rabies and points into Poison creeper for synergies....

I'm thinking he'd wear something like a 6 socket crystal sword with poison jewels and a shield with poison jewels... if i could find one a +3 rabies helm with 3 sockets and more poison jewels... Not really sure how this would work since IIRC any other sources from poison would not stack onto the "rabies poison"...

Alright i checked out a possible skill point spread for this... now it should be 17 points from regular leveling +3 rabies from a helm and IIRC +9 more skill points from quests (1 from Akara per difficulty lvl 2 from Izual per difficulty)
leaving me with 29 skill points for the build

1 werewolf (only 1 point here for more in synergys and we're hoping our duels won't last more than 30 seconds anyway... If need be take a point from Sage and pop into Lycanth for duration and a life bonus)
1 feral rage (prereq.)
4 Rabies (1 from skill point +3 from helm)
2 oak sage (life bonues are fun)
20 poison creeper (synergy and a friend to help us duel with)

29 points to work with

the d2data skill planner says that with set up Rabies will be doing:
336-485 poison dmg over 5.2 seconds... Ouch... i think that'd put a huge dent into any LLDer.

So i'm asking for any inputs or experiences with rabies druids or even just LLDing... Would my rabies attack pack any punch at such a low level even with some synergies?

This sounds sooo fun to me guys!!! a low level rabies druid woot!! Please help me!

whoops... i lied that's only 28 there... hmm... maybe that other point into lycanthropy.

Now... if it won't work for a lvl 18 Druid dueler... how about a lvl 30... i played around with the skill calculator and it can do upwards around 3700 rabies dmg eventully. that's a lot dmg of that could claim the life of everyone but those high HP barbs.

Anyone have any suggestions or input?

Doh... Alright so yeah it would be.... hmm... alright that'll pretty much kill this wouldn't it then?

So i went back to the VLLD druid drawing board and thought about a Bear druid with summons...

Not sure if this is legal for VLLDing... but here's the stat points for a Lvl 9 deuler

4 in Lycanthropy
3 in Werebear
3 in Oak Sage
3 in Spirit wolves
3 in Raven
1 in Poison Creeper.

17 skill points (+8 from levels +9 from quest rewards)

I figure i could find a helm for +skills for either my summons or werebear and go grab myself the normal melee weapons with socketed Max Dmg jewels.

Summons act as distractions while i hope to deal a decent blow with the added dmg bonus from WereBear... Shame there's no attack skill to use for a shifter under lvl 12...

How high are you willing to go? I HC LLD, and anything under 30 is basically LLD, you might try a level 29 werebear using a 6x shael dimensional blade or 6x shael crowbill, rest of the gear is +max gear, go check it out in Baranors repost of lld builds (not the exact name, but something like that) in the hardcore forum, they pack quite an unexpected punch, and they are VERY fast (5 frame maul i belive)
If you want to go up to 34, make a crush druid.
Werewolf using something along the lines of:
Coldsteel eye
rattlecage w/ max jewel
goblin toes
ik gloves
ik belt or string
angelic jewelry
whistans gaurd with +max jewel
Sharp grands//smalls of sus for charms. Socket with ias as needed, rest of the sockets are +max. Simple build, LOADED with crushing blow, drops anyones life in a hurry, and using fury, the crushing blows hit very fast, its a very nice build, and it has a lot of life (hard to kill the things)

About the lvl 18/30 rabies druid:

I made a lvl 30 rabies/fury werewolf, norm rushed, not hell rushed, and ended up stripping him within a few weeks.

Basically, he did quite well vs. anyone who didn't use deaths gloves. The psn really sapped their life well, at 3K+ psn dmg. And once I hit them with rabies, I switched to fury which did around 1K max dmg...which was a lot considering I had base HoW.

But if someone had deaths gloves on, the psn still did dmg, but not nearly as well as when dueling someone w/o deaths on. And since my fury dmg wasn't too high compared to other duelers since I had to sink so many points into rabies and psn creeper, he was still able to hold his own, but he didn't win too consistantly.

But it is definitely a unique build, and it would be even better hell rushed (if you or the ppl you duel don't mind hell rushes) because you can pump more pts into HoW to pump your fury dmg. Keep in mind you want to either get some major +skills, and/or get a helm with +fury and socket it with max jewels. I had a +3 fury druid helm with 45 max dmg personally.

Just to point out the obvious, you get 4 extra skill points per difficulty, not 3. You forgetting about the first quest in act 2? I've forgotten the bosses name, but the Great Mummie in the sewers...

Knarl i didn't know you frequented the druid forum... Thanks for the input... it would just seem so fun for a rabies lld-er.

Bob the mad cow... Yes you're correct i totally forgot about the silly Book of Skill that "Radament" (spelling) drops... thanks.

If any of you guys can catch my other post about my LLDing Bear please feel free to put some input there... and Knarl... Keep it on a Hush Hush ;)
