HELP: Max Block

Well, i'm a bit of a newb and i just started a zealot.
AND well i was thinking of pumping dex for max block but then i quikly relised holy shield maxes block if high enough.....what should i do max block with dex or dont i need it i have no idea cos in alot of guides it says max block and well there more expierianced than me...

You do not need alot of dex for max block with holy sheild. I think around 88 dex is enuff with level 20 holy sheild. Get it Use it Love it.

Here you go. 88 dex would be enough only till ~57 with HoZ, slvl20 HS and no other sources of +block%.

I hope this helps. You can "mirror" what a Guardian Angel (GA) + Herald of Zakarum (HoZ) setup would be like the poor mans way by using a Twitchthoe armor + Sigon's Guard shield. Equip these two items with a max lvl 20 Holy Shield and you will be with 2 points of dexterity requirement at lvl 45 and 4 points of dexterity requirement at level 99. This setup comes EXTREMELY close to what you would see if you were using a GA+Hoz setup as far as blocking is concerned. As far as the numbers go:

Since a lot of people go the GA+Hoz route, here goes:

GA+Hoz at lvl 50 require 69 total dexterity; without GA 79 total dexterity
at lvl 60 requires 80 total dexterity; without GA 91 total dexterity
at lvl 70 requires 91 total dexterity; without GA 104 total dexterity
at lvl 80 requires 102 total dexterity; without GA 117 total dexterity
at lvl 90 requires 113 total dexterity; without GA 130 total dexterity
and lvl 99 requires 123 total dexterity; without GA 141 total dexterity

Since blocking is much less required in Normal, my suggestion would be to put little to no points into dexterity until you max Holy Shield. Instead get a very high defense armor and live off the DR bonus of Holy Shield. Then equip either the Twitchthroe+Sigon's or the GA+HoZ to determine the EXACT dexterity you need to pump; or use the stats above . If you need some dexterity for AR, do not exceed the above levels or you'll waste those points.
