hell eldritch runs

im doing player 1 hell eldritch runs for items(my characters die to easily to other mf targets, and i cant do shenk too because the archers **** my puny hammerdin)

i will post all set/unique items and also any rares/jewels/charms/runes worth mentioning.

i only have 158 mf so i dont expect to do too good.

heres the results for runs 1-100

run 1:ethereal edge
run 13:duskdeep
run 28: the jade tan do
run 31: aldurs stony gaze
run 38:artic mitts
run 59:naj's circlet
run 69:tancreds hobnails
run 94:viperfork

I've been doing the same thing with my Conc. Barb lately on P/8 to gain experience, with maybe 200 or so MF. And after about 150 or so runs, I, too, found myself a Viperfork from Eldritch. I had it listed as a uniqie War Fork on my self-made Grail list, so I thought I had found something that D2.net hadn't reported about (like the new unique throwing weapons in 1.10), but I realized that the name of the weapon had changed since the new patch came out.

ANYWAY... good luck on your runs, I hope you have better luck with him than I do!

Dude, make a sorc.

Teleing enables you to wear less resistance and other defensive stuff -> more MF. Tele speeds up your runs.

Being able to spam spells from afar makes you die less -> more lvls -> more powerful char.

I use a sorc with max blizz, 10 in cold mastery, max fire mastery, max meteor and max fire ball. Real powerful against about anything, except of course those ci/fi's. My merc can easily take them out with his Reapers.

dude, make a summoner. my gear is almost entirely mf and i can still blitz everything on the screen  except a might fanaticism extra strong, extra gay group of skele archers. then i just use attract and voila!

seriously, summoners allow u to wear heaps of mf without sacrificing killing power almost at all. if you dont make one i will personally hunt you down and crash tackle you.

:D

I have made a Fishymancer, if you mean that by summoner. It had max Raise skelly, Mastery and Corpse explosion.
Well, I suppose it could run the level 85 areas pretty well, but it was too bothersome to always start getting those skellys up at the start of every run, it was bloody fragile and I had to sacrifice many equipment slots for +skills and resists to stay alive for some time.

Also, the lack of Teleport was damn annoying, since I'm a poor n00b, and don't have 'nigma :)

Dude, check out pindle's garden... Full of juicy corpses just waiting to be RS'd ;)

i hit eldritch/shenk as well as pindle
i've been uninspired by both eldritch and shenk in terms of items
shenk is good for the occasional jewel, rune and charm
i think i will reroll maps till i get a good threshsocket map

Dude, reroll? I always see him just at the entrance to whatever caves those are. D'you mean, to have a waypoint close to that entrance?

Dude...There's something about that section of A5, 'cause in the dozen or so characters I've made in the past years, I've probably seen that waypoint a total of four times over multiple difficulty levels.

And Dude, Eldritch and Shenk are useless to run solely for items, IMO. That Viperfork is the best I've had, and I run him all the time if I get a character to A5 hell for the experience. If you want to item hunt, you need something better, something a little less soft. And I'd recommend starting somewhere less intense; meaning, if you're just starting out your MF career, Nightmare Meph or Baal are fine. I'm sure your Hammerdin can handle Nightmare if he made it all the way to A5 hell. Running easier areas will give you decent enough items to either strenghten your MFer, or items you can use for a more suitable MF character. Personally, I use a Multizon in the Pits, can only handle P/1, but she's had to work her way up from Nightmare Meph. Generally... Paladins aren't used to hunt items, are they?

Sure they are. Hammerdins run everywhere.

Well, at least you got tancred's boots. Those aren't so common.

omg lemming keeps pwning me

runs 101-200 are up.

and actually eldritch has given me some semidecent items in the past(i got shako/guardian angel/homulcoulus from him)

edit: since apparently you cant edit the first post in a thread im posting everything here.

run 147: windhammer
run 160 milabrega's orb
run 165: laying of hands
run 169: viperfork(another one :( )
run 188: aldurs advance(if only these had been unique)
run 189: sanders superstition
run 195: iratha's cord

I'm reporting this thread for overuse of the word dude.

But really it should be easy to raise skellies. make sure ur merc is outfitted as best as possible cos hes ur main killer. then, if ur up to there, go to pindle garden and raise some corpses. if ur not that high enuff lvl, just go to cold plains. id recommend getting max block (Homo  ) for defence against ranged attackers.

also, u can get teleport from najs puzzler (69 charges) or spellsteel (25?) which will really help speed up runs

edit: ill use this one if i hit the max character limit since i posted it already anyways :o

Dude, you can only edit your posts for up to 30 minutes (iirc) or something like that.

Oh, personally i've had poor luck with Eldritch over the long haul ... but he's quick and easy.

Bah! The Fishymancer is not good for MFing.

I didn't get enough MF squeezed on my necro to make him a MFer, without sacrificing so many +skills, that my skellys didn't kill quick enough. Plus I had/have a total of 1 Graverobbers charms ;)

Teleport charges? Waay to bothersome.

It was just way too easy to just try out the next cheeseball MFer on the line, my Hammerdin. He's level 89 now :) sorta retired, don't play him anymore, and my sorc just passed him yesterday in lvls. Horray for lvl 90

My fishy is level 77 and can clear the pit in a few minutes. Wearing Trang's set, but even without it, I can't see it taking much longer. It takes a couple seconds for my merc and skellies to kill a mob or 2, and 5 corpse explosions later the group is dead and it's on to the next.

Meh. That belt keeps avoiding me..

*clears throat*

Enough with the "dude" already :)

And guys, lets let the original poster have his thread back. He plays a hammerdin, is running Eldritch, and would like to post his finds. He didn't ask your opinion on the best MF character or target.

(P.S. You get 60 minutes to edit a post.)
