Harmony bow question

Ok i have the runes - have searched the forums...my question is

What type of bow should I get socketed to turn it into a Harmony?

Was thinking a mat bow but have read that they can have 5 sockets, does that mean I can rune word it and use the extra slot?

Bear with me this may sound like a noob question for most of ya.

No. It must have the exact number of sockets the runeword requires, no more, no less.

Also, Mat bow is a good choice, but you'll need to find one that has 4 sockets, because Larzuk will give a white one 5 sockets. Harmony is a great, inexpensive bow runeword that can be used at relatively low levels. It's terrific in NM, and good enough for Hell.

Ah I see so i need to find one on a mob not get it socketed?

Ral +Amn + Pamethyst will socket your bow via the cube. It might take a few tries but you will get 4 sockets soon enough. This works only normal unsocketed bows, no superior bows and no re-socketing. A Blade bow is a good choice also if you want to hand the Harmony off to a Rogue merc at some time.

Note: if you think you will ever use this bow on a Rogue Merc, they cannot equip Amazon-only bows, so better to make it in something like a Great Bow. Otherwise, Matriarchal Bow is probably your best bet.
