Hardcore Brothers Guardian Thread
We set on our journey three weeks ago, when I persuaded my brother into playing HC with me. We knew that it's a difficult but rewarding challenge. I chose to play with Meteorb, FB being one of my most favorite skills, and her being one of the best untwinked chars. Antonio chose a pure LF javazon because he never played an amazon before and wanted a ranged build for extra safety (and because she eats cows and pindle for breakfast).
Normal was the hardest part. We didn't have any equipment so our mana and life was jumping up and down a lot. Since we play without RWM we don't have access to Insight, Toni chugged mana pots every ~5 LFs. But, the first one to go was my sorc (Qara), at lvl 9 she was killed by normal Rakanishu, his lightning fried her in a split of second. I rebuilt her fast but then in NM came another shock, Toni's zon (Thunderstrike) at lvl 44 died to Griswold's FE (while being cursed), he soon built another one and I gave him a mad rush (resulting in a few NDE's as well).
NM wasn't a big problem, Toni's LF was frying everything before I could even see the monsters alive. Then we came to NM Mephisto. I ran him for at least 500 times for grailers and looking forward to Occy (which did drop but I forgot to pick it up after taking a screenie:duh
. With our new items everything went smooth till Hell Meph, where I did another ~300 runs(wielding Occy + other goodies) and Toni did some Sewers runs (Woot!). Today we started Act 4, and we had no troubles (except for some Gloam sightings). Hellforge was very rewarding (Toni's and mine). Act 5 was very easy, we had no problems reaching Anya and rescuing her, then I tele'd to Arreat Summit cause it was already getting late. First roll on ancients was terrible, one FI/LI one LI and couldn't see the third one. For the 2nd roll I lured one by one and then we killed them with ease while 2 mercs and a valk were heavily tanking. Wsk lvl 3 spawned Gloams and Death Lords, good enough to cause one NDE, Throne of Destruction was a pushover. Baal's minions were instantly dropping beneath Toni's fury. Baal was generous and gave us a grailer (Hellslayer). So, here they are:
