hammer/smite uber guide
alright, so this is from memory, and it likely nowhere near as effective with the new hammer nerf, but here goes:
last season, i had a hammerdin with the goal that he could solo every single monster in the game.
pit vipers/'thak were probably the toughest, but it's mainly a matter of paying attention.
end game skills (109 points):
20 hammer
20 vigor
20 blessed aim
20 concentration
20 holy shield
1 smite
1 redemption
1 salvation
1 charge
1 holy bolt
1 might
1 prayer
1 defiance
1 cleansing
i only got to lvl 94. pretty sure it was holy shield i didn't max out.
end game gear:
enigma
shako (ber)
spirit shield (35%)
wizardspike
dracs
arach
+2 pally / 10 fcr ammy
soj
10 fcr ring
snazzy boots
switch:
cta/spirit
inventory
torch, anni, life
secret tech in inventory:
4x shael 2x ber phase blade
this gets you the 125% fcr breakpoint, and 75 resist all.
to kill ubers:
throw hammers at bad guys
teleport next to a boss
switch to your phase blade
(if meph is close, use salvation, otherwise use concentration)
smite boss until it has only a sliver of health
throw hammers to finish it off.
to kill nihlathak:
fast way - teleport on him, throw hammers.
safe way - kill things on the way to him, use redemption. then throw hammers at him.
pit vipers:
don't run/walk. tele everywhere, and then just throw hammers as usual.
redemption is good here so you don't get ce'd.
to kill those magic immune dudes in act 3.
smite them.
hell diablo/baal:
either use hammers, or smite them to ~15%, then hammers.
to kill everything else:
teleport on top of target
throw hammers
if low health/mana, switch to redemption for a sec.
notes:
the ber ber shael shael shael shael phase blade gets you to max smite speed,
and has 40% crushing blow.
the dracs give you life tap.
that right there makes you a ridiculous smiter. and since you hit max speed without fanat, you can use salvation on uber meph, wich is really handy.
also, i found that an act 3 cold merc was nice to have around.
you could gear him up with a lawbringer to make chaos sanctuary easier.
his habit of glacial spiking as soon as you teleport is nice, too.
