Griswold's legacy

Griswold's legacy

I am in the process of beating hell difficulty with my paladin and i looked at the stats for griswold's legacy and i really wanna get it

does anyone know the stats on how it will drop?
and once i find any of the items which runewords would be the best?

Re: Griswold's legacy

For drop rates, check out silo's drop calculator or use the one that comes along with ATMA. You can find both in the Single Player forum.

The body armor is pretty easy to find, but the crown, shield, and scepter are quite rare.

Lastly, you can't make runewords out of set items; only grey items. Although if you could, Griswold's 'Enigma'/'Duress', 'Sanctuary', 'Lore', and 'Fury' would be hilariously overpowered. :p

Welcome to the forums as well!

Re: Griswold's legacy

For drop chances go to the single player forum and look at the stickies for "Atma", that program contains a handy dropcalc.

You cannot make runewords in anything but gray items (and griswold's legacy is obviously "set" items = green).

Edit: drats ... pwned by pwned :whistling:

Re: Griswold's legacy

If I'm understanding you're runeword question correctly, you can't use any of the Griswold's items to make runewords. You can only use normal items with sockets or that can have the correct amount of sockets added to them. As far as what runewords would be best would be depend on what type of pally you are creating.

Sorry, but can't help with the drop rates. Maybe someone else can chime in with better info.

Hope this helps

Edit: guess i wasn't quick enough

Re: Griswold's legacy

oh thats lame i guess i havent found any socketed set items

but thanks for the help the drop rate is incredibly rare like one of the rarest which is what i was figuring

But paladins are the weakest character class, they obviously need the hilariously overpowered gear :D

Re: Griswold's legacy

Griswold's Legacy is the hardest set to complete with self-found items, but trading for one shouldn't be that difficult because it's not that popular... take care to get a 4 socket weapon, preferably with good %ed. The shield is the most rare set item in the game, the weapon is #2 and the helm should be among the top 5-10 as well. Only the armor is rather common. I never completed it in a single season, I always missed one item so far. In this season it's the shield, in the last season it was the weapon.

Well, look at it from the bright side... you have a complete Griswold's Legacy on non ladder

I have never completed a single set in my whole D2 experience. My friend almost completed Tal Rasha's Wrappings but I do not know if he has the whole set now :) By the time I find the whole set I generally have a much better set up with unique items and rares.

Re: Griswold's legacy

I've completed every set except that Griswold set. I even completed sets I didnt even use myself (M'avina, orphans, disciple, etc etc). Then again, it must be my "I dislike paladins in all games so GTF away with that crap" aura :D

Re: Griswold's legacy

The shield has the fastest block speed, right ? If i remember correctly, it does block every 2 frames ?

I think i once made a Tesladin with the full set, just to see some super blocking. Didnt use him for much except running around in normal though. What fun that was :) Everything dieing on sight :D

Re: Griswold's legacy

I thought Mosers was the best blocking shield?

Many shields have better block chance and block rate than Moser's. Many shields have better block chance than Griswold's, too (Whitstan's Guard has the best block chance in the game), but Twoflower's point was that Griswold's has the fastest block rate, at 65% faster block. I can't recall having seen any shields with faster block rate than that.
