I know I'd go with normal base ie. LP/BP, but I think you should use an armor that looks appealing to you. When planning a RW I sometimes look at my armor appearance jpgs for ten fifteen minutes and still can't decide. I think Necromancer is the most crucial class since I can't stand looking at him if he doesn't have the 'spiky shoulder' look.

Almost all the 'Enigma's of this forum went into Light Plates or Breast Plates. For some builds, the +Str of Enigma will allow you to stay at base strength. Furthermore, 'Enigma' has +Defense not +%Defense, so base defense is not nearly as important as in other runewords.

If you decide to go for the bp, you can shop 3os(even 15 superior if that floats your boat, beware of repair cost increasing) in act 2 normal. I don't have enigma myself as I havent really played much in 1.13, but if I eventually do, I would without a doubt pick the armor I think looks the best, as long as it has low str requirements.
