Dual ''Dragon''

Have you ever wondered about making a dual Dragon paladin insted of powerful dual Dream-din?
Max res fire instead of res light and all rest the same,though dual Dragon would means you wear Dragon armor and shield, not helm and shield as dual Dream is. I would like to hear your opinion, or did you ever wondered...:coffee:

Holy Fire is very, very, very, weak. It does even less damage than Holy Freeze skill vs skill. Haha.

Still, I think others have played with dual "Dragon" before.

It's for fun/challenge,I know ist's weak, but no one talked about it so I thought it's time to wake up the world...

Holy Fire compares poorly to Holy Shock at similar skill levels, as when comparing a Dragon 'SurLoSol' armour and shield's Level 28 (14 + 14) Holy Fire Aura When Equipped to a Dream 'IoJahPul' helm and shield's Level 30 (15 + 15) Holy Shock Aura When Equipped with 20 points in Resist Fire and Resist Lightning respectively:

However, while level 30 HS is the maximum level you can get from items, you can get level 44 HF by adding a Hand of Justice 'SurChamAmnLo' weapon's Level 16 Holy Fire Aura When Equipped:

Of course, level 44 HF requires 3 Lo, 3 Sur and Cham, while level 30 HS requires 2 Jah... :shocked:

Alternatively, you could invest in HF and its synergies and use it with a Unique bow or crossbow which has the Fires Exploding Arrows property (HF's fire damage is added to both EA's arrow and explosion(s)). Demon Machine Cho-Ko-Nu and Razortail Sharkskin Belt are a particularly powerful combination, since they also give your Paladin 99% Pierce.

I didn't thougth about HoJ, it would make this buld more powerful.
But using Demon Machine means no shield(no Dragon), and no HoJ, idea is making not HF Ranger, but dual Dragon...
I think it isn't possible to make dual Dragon more powerful than Draem? Maybe with special gear. Or make a dual Dragon sorc...

In the case of dual dragon sorc the difference between fire / light is even more obvious because the mastery is applied twice, and light mastery gives much bigger + dmg than fire.

In melee the elemental masteries are applied twice. This is how the dual dream zeal sorcs are able to get insane damage.

Never tried as that shield is so hard to find.
I have 65 resist dream shield, and clearing that is not good option. Maybe I do just armor and test it with my Dreams pala.

I have 43 resist white Sacred Targe, cubing it might give that 3, best shield anyway for low str req. These Dragons give huge +str anyway.

But as pure build, without dreams. At least helmet slot is free. Hmmm with Guillaume helmet, crushing blow build is possible.

At least Dragons works better than dreams against uber mephisto. And you can use guillaume helmet so should work in UT just fine. Add stormlash and Gore boots, then you have
Fire 1,270-1,339
Lightning 1-473 (nice backup against immunes). Getting another 1-500 from charms is not so hard either.
Crushing 33+35+15=83%
And static helps a little against fire immunes too.

And against Iron maiden knights, Kuko or Demon at switch. With explosion effect, that 500 fire from armor is good enough in hell. Kills faster than sorc using bow anyway. But no tele, that is huge minus.


Elemental zealots are nice, that 1k fire with lvl25 conv aura should kill in hell just fine. And getting physical/elemental backup against fire immunes is only minor problem for pala.

And holy freeze, dream helmet, infy (hope that palas higher one cancel this one) duress-armor merc should be good merc. Damnit, its getting expensive.

or you could ust use last wish PB for 70% crushing blow from weapon only.

got (or rather had) both pally builds as have other peopl who were bored.
Quite frankly problem with HF is stupid amount of proc attacks with it. less of that with dream.

Also noticeably more numbers of fire immune monsters.

PS suggesting CoA 2 facet as alternative head. Gives res, fhr, and Dr (which is really appreciated) as well as boost in fire dmg and -res

alternatively you can use unique grim helm but I prefer my CoA. bit expensive tho
