DS/F/B barb two runeword weapon question

I posted this in the stats forum too.

Ok I am bulding a Double Swing / Frenzey barb and I want to use two runeword swords with him. On NL I have a WW barb that I love to play but he uses two doombringers. On Ladder I wanted to try something different, by using two runewords, and I am not sure which ones I want to use. I have looked at Crescent Moon and Passion because I can afford them right now.

I would love to have the perfect botd ed on two swords lol but I know that isn't possible, my poorness and no one willing to give up a perfect one, unless it was duped some how.

So any other suggestions, that might work for this barb, he is gong to be mainly the Double Swing but his back up is going to be Frenzey/Beserk

I normally play pallys so this although I have one on NL is new to me.
 
Cresent moon is a vary good choice for a frenzy barb, passion on the other hand is pretty weak. It doesn't have much enchanced damage, nor any damaging mods like crushing blow, static field, deadly strike. To be honest the best frenzy weapons are maces. Nords has solid damage and oh so useful freezing and schaffers or stormlash in the other hand is a devestating combo.

Right now I have a lvl 73 frenzy barb in act 4 hell using a beast zerker (probably out of your price range but oh so sweet!) and a Nords. He is doing just fine.

i personaly like famine/schaefers for my frenzy barb.

he did pretty well in act 5 hell on baal runs at 79 and still does well against blacksouls and such
 
Ok I am finally starting the up side of the build,, He is finally lvl 40 and getting ready for NM.
I can make just about any rune word now, including botd, so I am wondering if I use a botd and doom would that be a good combo. I don't know what the stats will be on them because I haven't made them yet. But should this be the two or should I make something else for him. Also I was looking at puting the botd in an eth cb. what should I put the doom in, If I make those 2 swords.
If the cb is not the best then what should I put it in, knowing that he is already being built to be a sword barb not an axe or polearm. I know that the cb is the best dmg sword but the requirments might not be the best. Thats why I'm here asking the experts of the barb builders.

Also what might be the best armor,, I kinda like the upped goldskin I have but I cant wear that forever unless I up it again. That might even hurt me stat point wise because of the str req. of a shadow plate being at 230.

So suggestions please,, I want to be as godly as possible, LOL,
can you barb masters help me out here?

EDIT: I wasn's paying attention,, I know I cant make doom in a sword, so I would need sword based runewords or uniques. my dumb A@$
 
First, be careful about bypassing the word filter, it's against forum rules to do so.

If you really insist on using runeword swords (which are very limited for endgame), your options are: botd, kingslayer, silence, Hand of Justice, Eternity, crescent moon, Call To Arms.

I'd have at least the one botd, then for the second weapon I'd rate it:
1. botd
2. eternity
3. crescent moon TIED WITH kingslayer
4. silence
5. hand of justice
6. call to arms

eternity makes for an awesome second weapon as it can also be used in an eth weapon, and speed for your 2nd equipped weapon doesn't matter. It's a very close second to another botd. crescent moon and kingslayer both give -% life attack mods in ctc static field and chance for crushing blow, so they're next on the list. 4-6 are decent weapons, but nothing that can't be overcome by an azurewrath.

Your botd has to be a colossus blade, since it's the only sword that has 6 sockets. Then all the rest of the runewords should go into the highest dmg base sword possible, since ias doesn't matter. That would be a colossus sword, eth for eternity. Of course, putting anything in a colossus sword means you'll have a reduced trade value, so you might want to stick whatever runewords in the highest dmg weapon that hits the last ww bp.

Also, I wouldn't worry about the str req on a shadow plate if you are dealing with the str req of swords. You're likely to have enough +str to get to 230.
 
Thanks for the info,,, and sorry bout the bypass thing was just stating my stupidity for not paying attention.

Now I noticed you said something about ww and Im not building a ww barb, I have one of those on NL, but I am building a Frenzy barb on Ladder.

So defenatly do the botd, and for a second weapon go for something with high Life leach. Since he is not going to be a ww would the ias affect it? or is that still not a factor becuse of frenzy.

As far as the shadow plate thing that is only if I were to up the goldskin, I know that there is better armors to use, and that what I was kind of looking for. I like the goldskin but I wasn't planning on upping it. So what would be the best armor for this type of barb, I was thinking maybe Stone, or Steel carapace. But any suggestions would be great.
 
I only mentioned using a weapon+runeword combo that would hit the last ww bp if you were planning on keeping trade value up, since the majority of barb duelers are ww. If you don't plan on trading them, or switching between your other characters, then the second weapon's ias does not matter and you should use a colossus sword. Life leech is okay, but that's only a secondary concern next to dmg mods like cb, ds, etc.

I would even get a pair of drac's gloves with lifetap so that life leech is totally irrelevant, since you'll be hitting so often that lifetap is almost constantly triggered.

One of the best armors in the game is duress runeword armor. I'd get that before anything else for pvm as you don't need that high of a def. If you are planning on pvp, then duress in an eth armor that you will have to remake would be best still.
 
As mstrnicegui said BOTD + Eternity make for a very nice combo, i've been using them for a while and haven't died in about 30 hours of play(which is excellent considering my cpu lags all over the place:(). The cannot be frozen and crushing blow mods on eternity are just plain sic, especially against bosses like baal and meph. My equipment looks like this:

COA 2soc/13/26 (1*Um, 1*12all res-15IAS)
Verdundgo 14%DR
Duress Great Heauberk
Ik Boots
IK Gloves
HighLords
wisp
Dual leech ring(4%life/6%mana/+127AR/Cold+26/Light+19/Fire+7)

At some point i want to get some nice rare boots with nice + resists, and change the gloves to Draculs. And yes my poison res suxxors.
