Did he try to hack ?

I know about these hackers/scammers who freeze the game during drop trades, but I wonder what happened yesterday.
I never trade on Bnet, however i joined a game "N 1 million gold" yesterday, thinking that for 1 million I could take the risk seeing the offers.

In trade window the guy shows rising sun ammy, skulder, maelstrom, 1 sc, 2 ammies +3 barb and +3 P&B.

I say OK for rising sun + sc 14 life cr 7 vs 1 million.
I put 500 000 , he leaves 4 items (rising sun, sc, 2 ammies) and both click OK, items are on my char.

I say W8 for the remaining 500 000,I go back to take 600 000 to compensate for the 2 ammies and then it became weird.

I try to put 600 000 in the trade slot, only 299 986 appears, he put maelstrom in the trade window, I try again, but always after the " cling cling money sound" the 299 986 remain then ALL freeze. Keyboard blocked, NO way to escape, save & exit. I cant even write wt...

I switched off PC after 10-15 sec, reloaded LOD, changed password of this acccount I was on...nothing desappeared but

WHAT did happen? only a PC crash or he tried to load a hack ?
In the last case what shall i do ?

It was the 3 rd time I traded on bnet and the last, it is so good to be in this ETF forum

after giving him 500k if he didnt put the rest in stash and he was lvl80 and had a little gold on him (14) then all that you would be able to trade him was 29986
the max gold you can carry is 10k x your clvl

could have been d2 crash or wierd lag

iv tried to trade 1mil gold before some people just take 850k and think thats all i had to give and call me a noob ect..

So there is currently no means to load a hack /key logger /ennoying thing through trade window , right ?
I am rather ignorant in cheating stuff and means to apply them, sorry:innocent:

I don't think you were being hacked

Probably some lag reared his ugly head. And he only had space for the lesser amount of gold as fjerxx suggested

I would suggest you read Watch Out For Scams!! Updated & Condensed among other threads so this way you know what mistakes not to make.

I've heard of crash+items gone when you come back, and something similar has happened to me before. I think it has more to do with lag-rollback or something than an actual hack, though as usual there is a distinct possibility that I am wrong.

i know but at lvl 99 you can trade 990k
if they are a lower lvl you can type to put in 990k and the trade window will only show thir 10k x their clvl
i normally do 850/150 for 1mil

First thing i thought was the gold problem, lol not sure about the freeze up though...most likley lag/...freeze

I hit that mark many moons ago ...Ushfruct did too. and even screenshotted it..
