Curse of mediocre shakos

I the past two weeks I got three shakos....115, 116, 117 def :shocked:

I dont know whether I should feel lucky.....:tongue:
 
You should be very lucky. I'm yet to actually have a Harlequin Crest drop in-game for me...

...except in Diablo 1, of course. Good ol' quest reward from the innkeeper.

???

Since when does the def on a shako matter? Even a perfect one is nothing to write home about. For some items I can understand it to look for (near) perfect defense or damage... but not for shako's...
 
I agree with stephan...defense on Harlequin Crests is highly overrated, and with many other items as well.

Can't remember that the D1 harlequin crest (unique cap IIRC) was a quest reward, I remember vividly finding one in one of the first 3 levels. I used it also for a short time before I found something else.

This is exactly what I wanted to write when I read the thread title. However, when I sell a high def shako, I will demand a higher price, of course :azn:



 
3 shakos in 2 weeks? I'd say you're lucky. Try 3 shakos over the past 2 seasons? t.t

Gamers who find godly drops like Griffons or CoAs & then moan(?) over their less than perfect attributes make me wanna yell *insert expletive* :rolleyes: Try lowering your expectations - you will enjoy item finding a lot more. D'uh.
 
only time a shako with perf def or high def matters is for that moron thats looking to pay like 10 HRs for it ( i hate HRs but ive seen it before)... thats when they matter
 
Bleh. Defense on a shako is meaningless. Can't believe people will pay triple or quadruple the price just for a few extra points of defense that does squat overall.

well, perfect items are cool, plus before the economy became what it is now people preferred higher def shakos so that they could socket them with expensive :D things such as bers/jahs.

Plus if you wear perfect gear those small bits of def do add up and might make a difference (slight one). I am not a perfectionist, but when available I do upgrade to better shakos, better trang gloves etc even though the stats on the item are fixed. But that is from a pvp perspective. My pvm chars use whatever shakos I have available, I do have 99 def and 101 def ones in use.

It matters alot for paladins that have base defense multipliers (holy shield/defiance). Extra defense of 43 (anti perfect to perfect shako, 98-141) can mean up to 450+ in total defense for an exile smiter. If you add this amount with the possible gain from rest of items (anti per to per dungo,eni,exile,boots,gloves etc) you get thousands of defense gain, which is very useful against ww barbs for example.

I see your point, but I'm referring to more of a 139 to a 141 upgrade. A 98 to 141 upgrade would of course result in a somewhat significant difference, but lately, I've been seeing people pay 4x the price for say...a 139 to 141 upgrade.

I did upgrade from 137 to 140 :D The new shako was dropped by mephisto - I would probably not pay for it...

I did mention economy in my original post. It does sound a bit funny now as runes are worth next to nothing...



 
Since 1.09, I've found 3 Shako's. 2 in 1.09, 1 in 1.11. 2 had perfect defense, and one was like 3 away from perfect. Weird eh?

On Europe? I have a 98 defense shako, need 40 HRS :grin:

When I find a shako I don't really care about the defense.. But I like round numbers and have a collection of 100 defense shakos ^^
 
A 139 shako=2.5HR
B perfect shako=no need to upgrade shako anymore
C no need to upgrade shako anymore=save you labor to search for upgrade
D save your labor to search for upgrade=7.5 HR
so perfect shako=10HR

also
E no need to upgrade shako anymore= need upgrade to COA
F need upgrade to COA = labor fee 1HR

so perfect shako=1.5HR

so 10HR=1.5HR so 8.5HR=0 so HR=0
because 0=free
so please give me a free perfect shako please :drunk: :dizzy:
