Crossword Style Rune Puzzle/Game
OK, here’s another puzzle/game I couldn’t help but work on. This one is a crossword style puzzle that is similar to “Scrabbleâ€, so no spelling diagonally or backwards. To play this one you will need to get a character with an empty stash & use the runes you have found (on any characters) to spell out rune words (any that are possible in v1.11) for points. Using ATMA instead of doing it in game might be easier, especially if you have your runes stored in an ATMA stash. Start by making one of the 14 rune words that use the Tir rune, placing it where I show it in this screenshot. Continue making as many words in your stash that you can as long as they are all connected in a crossword fashion. Using the same rune word more than once is allowed as long as you have enough runes. All adjoining (horizontal & vertical) runes must be part of, or form a complete rune word (and not just be random runes).
I’ve given each rune a point value listed below for scoring. Once you get as many rune words as you can, figure out your score by adding up the point values of the runes for each word (the connecting runes will be counted for each word). If a rune is in one of the “2X Rune†squares, you double its point value (for each rune word that uses that square). If a rune is in one of the “2X Word†squares, you double the point value for the entire word(s) that use that square. In the off chance that a single word covers (2) “2X Word†squares, you would score 4 times the points for that word.
Of course it will depend a lot on which runes (& how many) you have, but I imagine getting creative with the low end words could still score pretty high. I’m curious to see what kinds of scores are possible since I haven’t tried this yet myself. I suppose we should wait to post screenshots so as to not give away a good layout. However, it would be interesting to see ones for the leading scorers (after a certain amount of time). I just don’t know how long to wait, any suggestions?
