Cow King, Light Immunity, Infinity ..

For Norm Cow King, will the lv 12 Conviction from Infinity break his Lightning Immunity? (If it doesn't for Norm, chances are it won't for NM or Hell either)

I ask, Because I want a cow runner with Holy Shock to the max, where that is his sole purpose in creation. (I might toss FOH on him just for exp purposes)

I also ask because I can't find the Light Resist on him. If I knew that, I'd know my answer. ;]

The aura does 1-1712 dmg alone (synergized), I was thinking of Norm for gemmies. That would kill the King (if broken). =/

I assume your merc is carrying the Infinity?

If you're using a higher level character to do the cows, which I assume you are judging by the fully synergised Holy Shock...why do you even need a merc?
leave the merc dead somewhere or take off the infinity...problem solved

Magic Resistant+LE gives him a lightning resistance of 115%, which will be reduced to 97% with Slvl 12 conviction. Without any additional -light res (which is mostly useless in norm cows), you'd only do 0-50 per 2 seconds to him. You should worry more about the merc killing him with physical dmg. The Cow King is very highly immune in NM and hell, with 140% and 165% respectively.

No merc for this project (and when Kashya gives me one, going to get her killed off ASAP). Going to have the Holy Shocker hold it himself for extra pierce from the Infinity.

I wanted to continuously hold the Infinity so that the cows would go uber-quickly. I suppose that around the pen, I could just W out and get all the others.

@RTB: thanks for the resist info mate, answered me with what I needed. :cloud9:

I can't edit the last post to reflect this:
Forget a Holy Shocker (or even an Auradin in the future), they're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too boring.

Even using FOH as my Left-Click and cast it whenever the timer is up, he's still extremely boring. No chance of dying, everything else dying all around, and nothing to really do in-between FOH casts ..

It's now advice time folks. I want a cow runner (Lightning skills) who won't be so boring during cows. My definition of non-boring is like how I play my BoneSummoners: Run around casting curses, bone spells, corpse explosion, refreshing skeletons, changing up curses depending, and running from incomming mobs when my army is engaged then repositioning golem.

The Lightning Sorc doesn't cut it, whooo, Chain Lightning, HO!
The Javazon doesn't really do it either, 1 javelin clears the entire cow level.
(Holy Shockers definitely won't cut it, see above.)
And I have a level 85 Trapsin on USEast, she's just not my bag, baby.

What else does that leave? I suppose I could make a Lich Lord and summon only Lightning Magi. :cloud9:

Pfft, Zeal is best applied with Conviction and a Baranar's Star (socketed with a PSkull so your ring slots are freed up). :soapbox:

Maybe a nova sorc of boltress? Needing to be up close and personal with the steak-to-be might spice things up a bit. Or perhaps a phoenix striker with a focus on the lightning charges.

(or even an Auradin in the future)

Infinity? Auradins? Ray only managed to put his auradin together with the help from several very rich retired players.

Don't let a few posts make these things seem like common place. These runes are still as rare as rocking horse manure in the SPF. Most of us still aspire to getting a Griffons so that we can tackle the bovines with a Javazon.

Oh, nary a thought! I was basing my assessment off of running through NM with him, with found-gear too. I wasn't taking into account any runewords when I made him, and now I see how boring his performance is, there's no way I'm going to aim for anything around that iLevel now.

Muzz: Thanks for reminding me of Nova Sorc. I forgot how much I enjoyed her before the synergy-death-of-D2 hit. Plus, killing tons of midgets (Fallen, Flayers, etc.) is always a dandy time!
