Christmas Gifts in D2 ^^

Now I know you're all thinking "Joy, another thread to post my godly/medoircre/cool finds in" and that'd be the case if it weren't for what I did a few weeks ago. >D;;

You see, I'd gotten an SC from Nilathak a while back, and I decided to roll it and see what popped out. After burning through 12 Perfect Emeralds, it transfigured into *gasp* a 281 pdsc! I was shocked. I didn't know what to do. I stuffed it on my jewelery/charm mule and left it there until one night when I decided to auction it off. Lo and behold, our very own Cassurai offered an ante. It went around a bit, first Ist, then Zod, then Cassurai sealed the deal with 2 Ists. Of course we traded, but after hearing about how the Ists were possible dupes, and about perming them EVERY game... I decided it'd be better to spend it all at once. ^^

So what do I buy? Yeah... I was having trouble figuring that out. I didn't have anything I immediately wanted for 2 Ists, but that's when I saw a game "Tal's 4 2 Ist" in the game box. Turns out, the guy needed 2 Ists and was trading a full Tal Rasha's set for them. "Perfect!" I thought, "I'll get these with my Ists!" He makes the normal game, and we make the trade. For one moment, I held the full Tal's set on a character. XD

But that's not the most Christmas-like part... you see, at the time, my only sorc was an Enchantress in the works, so I tell my friend to come to the game I was sitting in with his Frozen Orb Sorc. So I open the trade window, stuff the full set on it, and click the check. He's stunned... a full Tal's set just for him. I get the usual (boatload of) thank yous, and his Sorc finally gets the golden aura. :]

Happy Christmas everyone, and post something nice that you've done for a friend in D2 for Christmas (you know, so you stay on topic...). ;D
 
Well, not exactly an X-mas gift, but I gave my friend Ebotdz, Grief Z, Beast Z, Widowmaker (+5GA), Archon fort, BW Enigma, Wire Fort, Matri Faith, Dusk CoH, Fire eschutas, Arach for his BvC, Bowazon and fire sorc. Oh, and 17/17 B-torch, 17/11 Z-torch, 14/10 S-torch.
 
I gave my friend a self-found HoZ, he lost it; a second self-found HoZ, he sold it; a third self-found HoZ, he told me last night that he's not going to play any more until next season. I gave him shako, occy, skullder, war trav, etc. for his MF sorc, his brother deleted the character for fun... Oh well, this is just a game, and I'm still playing and enjoying it.
 
Why do people like poison charms? It comes out to very little damage per second compared to the other elemental charms, and it doesn't even get a chance to do that damage if you kill your target in less than 10 seconds or so, and you usually will.

People are misled by the seemingly large damage numbers.

My friend just gave me an Ice bow and a one of those 160/60 IAS dupe armors.

I dropped a 175 Poison 16 Life SC on Nihlathak as well. I admit its value is a bit overrated, but still it's a sexy SC for PvP :xmas11: !

A roleplay mate had his birthdayparty two days before christmas and one of his gifts was a Diablo 2 CD, with LOD Expansion. I asked him about it and he told me he had started to play with some of his friends on NL. Luckily I saved some stuff from last ladder and so I could give him a couple of runes ( pul - ist ) and an "Edge" + "Insight" which actually seem to have some worth on NL.
 
I gave Diablo a smack with my shield. :xmas9:

Not that I did anything really nice this Christmas, but I've been helping a random guy from an "Items 4 Pgems" trade game with advice. Turns out his friend hooked him up to the extreme, and he doesn't know jack about anything while sporting a few enigmas, chains of honor, ebotdx, etc. Helped him transfer a few times. I'm such a saint.

Ouch... tough cookies. At least I know my friend won't do anything stupid with his full Tal's until he finds something to outgrow it... *cough* DEATH'S FATHOM *cough* XD
 
today was a good d2 day for me. found fal from rakanishu when waiting in a trade game and then..... traded 5 pgems and a 30life 42 mana gc for cats eye amu and sandstorms :xmas9:
 
Well I feel I've been blessed around the holidays...in less than 5 weeks, I have nearly double the quality of my last yrs characters..that took 3-6 months to build. I mean from Tals set, to full IK...I've either been lucky, or blessed..fiannly. My next goals are runewords as Enigma, COH/etc. But I figure that will take much longer.
And as gifts..I have alrdy gave many freebies away, and pretty much gave my brother everything he has...which is ALOT!

The key I've learned this time around is..learning the value on alot more items..esp the socketed stuff, armors/weapon classes. They alone have really gave me my edge. Theres no telling how much stuff I've walked past the last times I've played....no telling.

Anyways, I was chatting with one of my gamer friends on MSN, and he told me that while MFing and Rushing with my Hammer Paladin he found quite a few things.

-Rare Lightning Sorceress amulet
-3xLife SC's with 2nd and 3rd mods
-2xfhr/2nd mod SC's
-A FREAKING SUR RUNE!
-and some socketables (about 6/eth and vanilla)

Basically he was asking me if he could keep the items since he MFed them, but they were with my character.

I told him that it was very fair that he keep the items he found.
He felt guilty, so he told me to choose an item of my choice out of the ones he listed, I asked for the Lightning Sorceress Amulet.
I was just amazed that he told me what he had found truthfully, and ASKED!
What shocked me even more, is the fact that since the beginning of the season the highest rune I found was an Ist, and when I leave for the holidays, he finds a Sur.... WITH MY PALADIN! :grrr:

Silly Kyubi is losing out on tons of rare items because it's that time of the year. XD

That's part of the reason why my main account is never accesable to anyone except me. I'm not even willing to tell my friends that. The only accounts my buddies have access to are my mules. :P

Oh well, I'll call you Martha, because you're a girl, and jolly old St. Nick is fat and pudgy, which (I hope) you're not. ^^;;

PS: If memory serves me correctly... you are a girl, right? >D;;

My word Cyber! You are the living end... Too funny for description.
But I know his password, and also me and him have been friends since Diablo the original, so we've been through alot; advice, RL situations, etc, etc, I consider him a real friend, not just some online bnet buddy.
So all in all, if he decides to screw me, then he is a lost soul, and a sad, sad person in my eyes...

After reading that, I do remember now that I once MFed with my friend's Orb Sorc. Was more like "taking her out for a spin due to boredom" but yeah, and I found a Ko off NM Trav when he'd found nothing for the past 5 runs. Go figure eh? XD

Oh good, I find my mushrooms don't remember as much/well as they used to.
Martha was the first name that popped into my head.
Goodie, I'm quite skinny and frail, but that's an aside.
Tell that to the dupers/hackers.

Nah, I didnt stop playing. I think I am going to rebuild my smiter, maybe mf to trade for a LW pb, get my NL summoner to 99, reroll my perf Monarch into a perf monarch spirit. Lotta mundane tasks to take care of at home tho, and was on break so I didnt get on much. To bring this back on topic, I also gve you a crappy Andy's Visage a while back, so we can add that to my previous list. and 8 SS gcs to another friend. Not to mention all the other crap spirits and insights i have made and subsequently distributed to friends. And full Trang set. and lots more I dont care to list. :xmas7:
