Cheap Uberer Gear Critique and Strategy help

So yea as the name implies, I'm making a cheap uberer out of gear I have and some cheap gear I need. I've never ubered before.

Gear:
Guillaumes Face socketed with Ort
Duress Archon Plate
Treachery Breast Plate for prebuff
Black Flail
Upped Hoz with Pdiamond
2x Ravenfrost or Ravenfrost and Dwarf Star
Drac's
TGod's
Gore Riders
Amulet?!?!???

Do not have CTA for prebuff.

Here's Skills, I think
All Prequisites
Max Fanaticism
Max Holy Shield
Max Smite
Max Zeal
Rest into Sacrifice

So here are some issues I have. I've watched many uber tristam videos and see people pwning ubers using godly setup.

1. After killing Meph and Diablo, there's usually a **** load of Mob's hanging around that they summon. Smiting them to death will take forever, should I smite them? Or should I switch to like Lightsabre and zeal them to death and do you think Lightsabre will be effective?

2. Lifetap on Dracul's has a 5% chance of procing and I cannot afford LW or Exile. So should I use Marrowalks instead of Gores for the Lifetap prebuff? Or should I find a wand of some sort, AKA I already have marrowwalks and want to know if they're effective because finding a lifetap wand will probably take forever.

3. Do I have enough stacked Resistance against Meph's Conviction?

4.Can this build take out the organholders? I've never seen vids or guides on how to kill the organ holders. All I know is that there are oblivion knights in one of the places that casts Iron Maiden.

5. What are the strategies for killing organ holders?

Thanks for answering my long winded questions.

Re: Cheap Uberer Gear Critique and Strategy help

that gearset should do ubers quite happily. you may wish to consider using a 4sox pally shield with 40+ base resists socketed with pdiamonds for killing u-Meph (gives more resists than the HoZ).

getting a lifetap wand shouldn't take all that long, you can buy them from Vendors. so keep an eye out, either a dagger or a wand with said charges should turn up pretty quickly.

4: you should be able to go organlegging quite happily. consider chugging a bunch of Antidotes before tackling Lillith. use your lifetap wand.

5: err, find said organ holder and kill them is the widely accepted method. going through to Izzy is going to be a little dicey with all that Iron Maiden kicking around, perhaps bring a non-cold based friend along to kill the OKs for you. i generally use a kick/trap'sin for organlegging.

Re: Cheap Uberer Gear Critique and Strategy help

Zealing with lightsabre would probably not be effective since the venom lords are immune to lightning. Use a weapon that gives real physical damage on those. The lightsabre should work on the PI minions of Baal, even though Azurewrath is better.

As for organ holders, yes, as long as you are be careful of IM. Use a bowazon or hammerdin to clear the place out if you have troubles. (the reason I suggest those 2 are because they don't get IM, and they can damage the immune to all venom lords) Strategies are the same, tap them then smite, just make sure all knights are dead.

On your amulet, I would suggest either a prismatic (magic with resist), highlord (if you use a real damaging weapon), or metalgrid.

Re: Cheap Uberer Gear Critique and Strategy help

Go either Mara's or Metalgrids for amulet. Seraphs might work if you decide you don't need to stack so much resists.

1. After killing Meph and Diablo, there's usually a **** load of Mob's hanging around that they summon. Smiting them to death will take forever, should I smite them? Or should I switch to like Lightsabre and zeal them to death and do you think Lightsabre will be effective?

Pick them out one by one. Don't rush into the town center. Mephisto is always the dummy to charge you first. So if you can lure him far enough from his brothers, all of his minions used ranged attacks and shouldn't get in your way of Smiting Mephisto.

Once you get rid of Mephisto, you can pick out his minions individually (they're weak, so you won't even need a GG weapon to take them out).

Same applies for Diablo and Baal. Diablo has an annoying habit of spamming fire spells continuously for a couple seconds before he finally decides to charge you. Baal is more unpredictable--he'll be sure to summon Festering Appendages or curse you first--then he does whatever the hell he feels like (usually cold spells or Teleport next to you--or if you're really unlucky, make a clone). The key again is to try to separate the too (especially if you're trying to be thrifty with your gear). Individually they will be no match for the Life Tap+ Smite+ Fanaticism combination.
The Pitlords (Immune to everything except Physical) will probably be your biggest problem. You might want to just pick them with Zeal (or Smite, whatever works for you) after you've dealt with Diablo. You can always lure them away and then teleport with Enigma if you don't want to fight them.

My Smiter runs on 5% Life Tap using Zeal and Smite no problem. Some times when I get unlucky I would have to hit a Rejuvenation, but it's sure cheaper than getting Exile or Last Wish.
However seeing as you're using Black, you can sacrifice your Gores for Marrows if you'd like that prebuff.

3. Do I have enough stacked Resistance against Meph's Conviction?
You don't. My Smiter has 30~40 stacked resists and Mephisto can still bring it down to the 0 range (iirc). However, you can invest a few points into Salvation (after skill bonuses, level 10 or 15 will suffice) instead of going crazy on Resist SCs or crazy resist gear. The other alternative (which I always tell people to do) is to use Griswold's Shield and socket it with 3 Um runes for a total of +111 all resists.

4.Can this build take out the organholders? I've never seen vids or guides on how to kill the organ holders. All I know is that there are oblivion knights in one of the places that casts Iron Maiden.

5. What are the strategies for killing organ holders?
I haven't tried your gear, but it looks solid enough. If you can take Throne of Destruction Waves + Baal alone, you won't have any problems with Organholders.

You can kill Duriel easily. I can stand there with Holy Shield on like a dummy and he rarely ever hits me (less than 30% chance of hitting me with a 75% chance of being blocked).
Izual will be tougher because of the OK's. You might want to get an Enigma and teleport to him instead of going down the long winding path to find him. Even then you might need to take out the OK's around him first.
Another thing you can do is to get somebody to get on a Hammerdin (or your own) to clear out the minions near him first (keep in mind the Megademons are Magic Immune). The Hammerdin won't be able to do much damage to Izual because Duriel has 75 Magic Resist, but once the OK's are out of the way Izual is easy to deal with.
Lilith is the harder one to deal with. Her chamber is full of Hell Temptresses that will kill you in an eyeblink if you're not careful. Lilith also has the highest chance of landing a blow (I think 66% to hit my Smiter), and she hits HARD. If your Life Tap doesn't cast in time be sure you have your finger on your Rejuv hotkey, or use your Marrows to cast it first.

Re: Cheap Uberer Gear Critique and Strategy help

You might want to consider using double shael'd Heaven's Light to hit the 6fpa smite breakpoint with fanaticism. A low ed/skill one should be quite cheap, is a far better zeal weapon than Black, has some -target def to help with Zeal, and just has slightly less CB.

My ideal cheap uber runner would have the same gear as you except switching Black for Heaven's Light and wearing a Metalgrid for resists or Highlords for some more zeal damage.

edit: Kinky, keep in mind that Blessed Hammer, although magic damage, ignores the resistances and immunities of undead AND demon. So a hammerdin can clear the furnace quite easily and would even do full hammer damage against Izual.

1. After killing Meph and Diablo ignor all the other monsters and just smite baal to death

2. No, just carry a bunch of rejuv / full rejuve potions and use those till u proc

3. With Treachery prebuff you should be ok, you can turn on salvation if you are really concerned.

4. Yes this build can easily kill the organ holders. My key runner is either my sorc or my hammerdin. I have that character open the three portals and clear the levels up to the organ holder. Then i come in with my uber runner who smashes the organ holders, pawns the uber three, grabs the torch and dances his way home.

5. Use your key running character to clear the level out just leave the organ holder alive for your smiter to kill.

Also I vote you use metal grid as your ammy.

I wasn't aware that it ignores Demon immunities as well.
Thanks for the heads up
