Change Controls

Hi all, long time lurker and first time poster. I was curious to know if you can edit the controls in Diablo 2, specifically the Mouse1 and Mouse2 defaults - obviously I have searched the ESC Options menu. Was wondering if someone wise and powerful here may know of a way to rebind them to keys of my choosing, so my fingers don't fall off. ;)

Cheers!

Re: Change Controls

What keys did you want the mouse to bind to?

Most mice come with some software that lets you remap your mouse buttons...it'd remap it for all Windows while it was running, though, so you'd have to make a D2 profile and you couldnt switch windows while running it. That'd let you set it to pretty much any key you want, though.

I think he wants to bind the mouse key actions to something on his keyboard, maybe? That's what it sounded like to me, so that he didn't have to click all the time he could put something like "K" as left click and "L" as right click.

Re: Change Controls

Hmm well I know you can do that in AHK - remap keyboard keys to LMB and RMB - and I'm pretty sure AHK used in that regard wouldnt be considered illegit. But it seems like there should be a simpler way, if anyone else knows it, since AHK is a pretty complex and high-learning-curve program :)

That being said, you'd need to have your hand on the mouse anyway for positioning the mouse, so might as well use the buttons

Re: Change Controls

Heya, thanks for the replies. I have a Razor Diamondback mouse and didn't even think about doing it through that software but unfortunately I've just checked it and it doesn't allow me to do that. Thanks Razor for an unuseable 3600 dpi, and no good software. :p

So yeah essentially I was wondering if there is a way to configure something so that I can get another control to act as mouse1 and mouse2 (ie LMB and RMB).

I just thought to check my Razor keyboard software which allows for macros and all sorts, but it doesn't detect mouse input. Razor is failing me... >_>

Did that make sense? I don't play on ladder btw, so I'm not too fussed if it's detected as cheating or not, I would just like to save my precious mouse-fingers which are cracking under the strain. ;)

EDIT: Had a look at that AHK thing you mentioned and it ended up being pretty simple:
LShift::LButton

Then rebinding LShift in game, so it's not stand-still and done! :) Wow, my finger is breathing a sigh of relief already. :p Thanks for the pointer.
