Blaze stacks

Blaze stacks

this is an interesting thing I picked up from the 'other' forum

so what kind of applications could this have? A single blaze will stack with itself if you run over the same area, any number of times. With a 6000 fire damage per second blaze, you could run over the same spot on the ground 5 times to get 30000 fire damage per second. I'm still trying to figure out whats the best way to abuse this.

So far, I'm thinking this could be really awesome with bowasorcs in pvp. Use blaze/hydra to carve out a sort of fort to hide in, and anyone who came near would be fried danged near instantly.

I used it in maggot lair (hell, full games). Monsters are quite near, but still you can run 2-5 times through same area, making deadly trap. Corridors are so narrow, so monsters can't avoid it. My blaze sorc got over 30 lvls from hell's maggot lair. And that was only with 2.3k blaze.

For pvp, bnet people are not stupid enough to stay still and burn. And you need to remake that trap way too often to make it any use as fortress.

Maybe good for blocking town entrance, but thats no fun for a long.

Re: Blaze stacks

Yes the recasting is a pain, but it could certainly be used in LLD where there is lots of runing involved. Using it to hold a fort while you widdle away with long ranged attacks of some kind (not sure yet), it could be a neat build. HLD it wouldn't be much more than a gimmick

Re: Blaze stacks

the problem with stuff like blaze and fire wall in PvP is that they do their damage per frame so they take a VERY large hit from magic damage reduction or integer absorb.

you say you can get 6k blaze per second... so thats 25 frames per second or 240 damage per frame. /6 for pvp penalty = 40. divide by 4 if they have 75 fire resist = 10 damage per frame per blaze stack. Which can be entirely mitigated by just one random magic damage reduction item. If they're using one dwarf star you do zero damage. if they're using string of ears or vipermagi, you will do zero damage. if they're using a random rare amulet with 5 magic damage reduction your damage will be cut in half. If they're using rising sun, you will heal them to full life in about 2 seconds from just one blaze stack.
