Best place to find HOZ

Im trying to gather info on where i should magic find at to get a HOZ. Where it is likely to drop at. Where it would probably be easiest/fastest to drop at. I can pretty much do anything except Hell Baal. I just really am bound to get this sheild. Its more of a acheivement kind of thing. So any information on where you found one or where i should look for one would be awsome.

You have now to factor in the time needed to reach a given Boss. That's why even if Mephisto has a lower odd than Baal, Andariel & Diablo, it's still the best HoZ provider IMHO.

Yes, but read Frosty's posting. The chance to find a HoZ within one hour of MFing would be best with respect to hell Meph.

that depends , they best chance for it to drop is off baal, but if you factor in killing time, eg the time it takes to get to him, and through the minions, diablo would be faster, and if you follow suit meph is faster then diablo to get to, so you could probably run him faster, thus increasing your chane of getting one drop.

Ok. I think ill continue with my NM Mephisto runs. They seem to be going really fast. I just am getting excited cause im seeing uniques drop, such as ring, and i ID it and its a manlad heal lol. Yeah tho. Hopefully i can get a HOZ within a day or 2 of Straight mf trips. If anyone who is on EastNL want to check out my trade post. Im pretty sure its on page 2 of the USeast fourm

You should try Hell Mephisto now. You can kill him pretty easily using the famous Moat Trick :grin:.

Well i dont have that bad a problem acutally killing him with my hammerdin im using, im having more of a problem getting to him with those undead stygian's running around everywhere. They run faster then i tele

try walking, and only teleing over walls, because when you walk , they also slow down their movement speed

The fastest way (other than ebay) to get HOZ, or any certain item, IMO is to just mf wherever you are good at, find valuable items, then trade those items for HOZ. I mean, if you run hell meph to find an HOZ, it much more likely that you will get other items maybe like shakos or IK armor or whatever that are considered valuable before you actually do find an HOZ (if at all).

this is gonna sound weird, but there's a pack of those fire-immunes w/shaman (can't remember the critter's names)..in hell outer cloister. i usually hit a certain pack before i enter the pits to do a run...

anyhow's last ladder they dropped me a total of 9 HoZ's. Meph gave me 1 HoZ and Diablo gave me 1 HoZ. That means of a total of 11 HoZs, 90% of them came from this small pack of critters in the outer cloister. I think 2 HoZ's in last ladder is average..how do you explain one pack of critters dropping so many HoZ's, i think it may be some sort of bug or testing area that Blizz did. BTW i haven't got'ten any HoZ's this ladder..but i forgot where this area is or what i did before

I believe somebody posted this before, but if u open different potals to get org sets..the portals are the same if you open the consistently in certain areas. This game is not totally random, most areas are ..but if ur the development team for testing they had to have some back doors. ditto here, i forgot the places where i marked to open specific portals ..need to find them again
