Best gem/rune in a Buriza

I found a Buriza with MF meteororb a copple of days ago, so I decided to start a multizon. Now I was wandering what the best gem or rune was to put into it.

I was thinking about a hel (-20 req) rune, because that way I would't have to pump my strength to much. But If I ever want to use a windforce, I would need some serious strength anyway.

A nef rune seems fine too. Is knockback really worth it?

Any tips/suggestions are welcome.
 
Actually the hel would be good especially if you upgrade it since it needs aound 150 str I think if you do and knockback is also good. There are maybe better options let ohm but I doubt many have the funds for the rare runes.
 
I asked this ? a little while back. the consensus was
Amn - life steal
Nef - knockback
Shaeal - add 20% IAS to take you to next fps breakpoint

went w Nef - works great on council dudes and knights in CS.

I would go with either Hel Rune or Amn Rune.

If you're going to upgrade, then Hel is your best bet as Burrito Collosus Xbow takes a stupidly large amount of STR. If you're keeping it as a Ballista, I'd go Amn. With leech so badly nerfed now, you're going to need all you can get.
Just my 3 cents. (I am fully aware the saying is "My 2 cents", I just like to be different :D)

Edit: Nef is a good idea aswell, but I wouldn't go with Shael, Xbows are horribly slow no matter what BP you hit and a multizon doesn't need speed as badly as a Strafer for example. So, if I were in your shoes, I'd buy some new ones!! Man, I truely am humourous...Seriously though, Hel/Amn (depending on whether you are upgrading), then Nef, then in a distant 4th Shael.
 
I think in your case (non-hybridzon) a Hel rune or even a nice -%Req jewel is a great idea. You might want to see if 15% IAS would do anything for you, Shael isn't a good idea, but a +15%IAS/-15%Req jewel might be. Maybe even a good ED%/-%Req jewel.

Other choices would be a Dol or Nef, but these offer control and that may not be something you need with your build.
 
in general, it is not reccomended to shael a burrito-cannon because you would need a very large amount of external IAS to get to the next breakpoint... i don't remember the exact number, but it is >60 OVER the shael. given that the increase in overall damage output is not that high for hitting the next breakpoint anyway, it probably isn't worth it. a hel is certainly a valid idea as is a jewel with -15% requirements/resists or %ED. nef is nice, but you can craft some VERY nice hit power gloves that always come with knockback and can get resists and + to amazon skills. so, i would go with amn or hel.

I have to ask, why an Amn rune and not a PSkull? It isn't like Bowazons are suffering in the Life Leech department.

heh, i totally forgot about skulls. :) that could be a very suitable choice because it will let you focus the rest of your gear (most likely your amulet) on more important useful mods. especially since you are planning a multizon, which doesn't use that much mana, a Pskull would probably give you enough.

My Hybridzon in 1.09 used a Burzia with a PSkull, that was her only ONLY form of leech. At least for mana. Then I got a crescent moon and so now when I play her in cows she just tosses javelins everywhere. :D
 
A lot of people are talking about crafting items. What does this mean? Are they talking about the quest reward(act1), or somthing else?
 
No they do mean the crafted items which are formed by using the cube and some items. Check the arreat summit for more info about this.

the ballista has 80 wisa

14/4: 70 to 94
13/3.5: 95 to 137

i read some where once that leach with Amn rune was buged for range weapons. the Pskull does sound good, you might run across a rare jewel
with five or more mods that would be sweet... high elem damage or the like.

IAS/-req jewels don't exist, both "of fervor" and "of Ease" affixes are suffixes,
and "of Fervor" can't spawn on rare jewels. :(

EDIT: I'd go with Amn or Shael, KB can be easiy obtained from rare/crafted gloves, along with +2 to Bow/Xbow skills and many other usefull mods. :)
 
what Vorbiss said up there^^ you can't get isa & -reg on the same jewel. but
i wouldn't put any isa on that bow... if you need the -reg i have this rare:
