Best DC Killer

I've read couple mini guides on how to find/kill Diablo Clone.

Ultimately, I guess I'm down to 3 choice.

Conc Barb
Frost Zealot
Hammerdin

Since Conc Barb and Frost Zealot has very few "other" purposes than Diablo Clone Killing, I think I'll be making a Hammerdin.

People who hunt DCline says hammerdin is the best for it but I cannot afford Enigma (although I do have a Vex rune for HoTo) as of right now..

Is Hammerdin really the best character for Diablo Clone hunting? and Without enigma, would it still be effective?

Well like every other build out there, those three will only be as good as the Gear they run in.

Yeah Hammerdin would probably be the easist since he would probably be the easiest since his damage is a spell, unlike the other two which would need really great Weapons. Just remeber that if you plan to make a Dclone killa your going to be spending alot of time with that character so make sure it's something you will enjoy playing as well.

Personally I like Hammerdins, it takes a while to get used to but once you have the tossing down, it isn't hard to handle just about anything - the Maggot Lair.

From my experiences in the game the Conc Barb proably has the easiest time smoking him, but again you'll have to plan on alot of trading/MF running to get everything to make him effective.
 
OMG all three choices can't beat a smiter with 70% crushing blow and life tap. I swear my smiter can beat the crap out of any boss in less than 1 min (including DC). i can kill DC with a crap buckler....
 
I think you need life tap and crushing blow with enough resist, You don't need incredible gear besides maybe draculs. Personally.. I'm not a big fan of hammer because I cannot hit the side of the barn with it. I like to go toe to toe with DC and smack him with a big stick.
Must have gears are.. Orphan helm, Drac and Gore rider.. everything else is gravy.... and any zealot can do this. I killed DC using conviction and zeal with gimmershred. Took less than a minute. I tried killing DC with a Sorc... I could not get him below 50%.
 
Have just started a frost zealot... I must say... my first time against baal... was HONESTLY under 10 seconds I think. After seeing what crushing blow can do... i'm a believer! My level 80 barb with bonehew can't do near the damage that fast!

My gear at level 41 when I killed baal in under 10 seconds...
Helm - Guillaume's Face
Boots - Goblin Toe (which BTW have better CB then Goreriders... but no faster run and less defense)
Weapon - Crushflange

Crushing Blow Total = 93%
Shield - Steelclash
Gloves - IK
Belt - IK
Armor - Hawkmail
Rings / amulet - junk... don't remember.. still looking for nice ones

All common gear... baal dead in under 10 seconds solo... I would choose him over the other two in a heartbeat of Uber D killing. The combination of Crushing Blow with the speed of zeal... and Holy Freeze preventing all the 'pest' from attacking you while focusing on Uber D... you can't get that with a barb or hammerdin. Uber D resists magic 50%... so cut your hammer damage in 1/2... same thing with physical damage if your using a barb (although, you can use CB with him too... but he won't be as fast and lacks the Holy Freeze to allow you to focus more on your target)
 
For DClone killer build,

High resistance, Cant be Frozen, Crushing Blow, Life tap and Mana Pots :lol:

Hammerdin : NEED very good gear to do decent damage coz he cant leech.
(This build also need much more Pots than other build, AKA. Hammy Potters)

Zealot : NEED high AR too keep hitting (Cheap but effective)

Conc Barb : Hmm. never play barb. :innocent:

Smiter : DA BEST, Fast 'n Effective, :yep:
 
what kind of set-up would a DC-Killing-Smiter wear?

Highlords
Wizardspike
Upp'd HoZ
2 BK Rings

and armor/belt/gloves..I really have no idea, hehe
 
Well, heres mine:

Helmet: Giant Skull with 2x ber runes, sometimes Guil..face with ber (10% cb)
Armor: Chains of Honor (resists)
Weapon: Heavens Light with 2x Um runes (33% + 50% cb lol)
Shield: HoZ upgraded with perfect diamond (resists)
Gloves: Steelrend (10% cb) but switched to Draculs for (25% OW, life tap)
Boots: Gore Rider (10% OW, 15% Deadly Strike, 15% Crushing blow)
Belt: Verdungos Hearty Cord (15% DR)
Rings: 2x Perfect Ravens (+dex, huge ar)
Amulet: Either Rising Sun (absorb) or Highlords (for deadly strike)
Switch: BotD War pike (what i usually use, dont use when fighting dclone)

The charms I would use are Steel charms of Vita for AR and Vita, and Annihilus, and of course, some Grand Charms for +skills.

This gives a total of 118% cb (if math is correct), 35% ow(if use draculs - would give 108% cb which is still awesome, decent AR, nice life, Damage reduction and resists. Couldn't possibly go wrong. Just hope someone in the group has Prevent monster heal, or you could just use ya merc. :lol:

*NOTE* this isnt what i have, its what i plan on having.
 
If you are going pure CB, go goblin toes. I have one or two pairs, and trust me, CB>All except maybe static against DC.
 
I'll update everyone on my smiter/chargadin for Dclone slaying periodically. IK ... cheap? since when is the armor cheap? :lol:i remember in .09 i saw only 1 of those babies, but maybe they got cheaper

It's fairly cheap now. You might be able to get the whole set for a rune.
 
I just had an idea:

Combine Frenzy's insane speed with dual stormlashes, goblin toes, and some decent support items, and you have an insane good Dclone killer along with boss runner. Dracul's, arreats(for resists), dual stormlashes(both with 33 crushing blow, chance to cast static field). Frenzy will boost AR, along with weapon mastery and I think stormlash does too, and 1 point in berserk makes you an all around killer, with a good chance to hit. With shout maxed you'll have decent defense as well.

So:
20 Frenzy
20 DS(synergy)
20 Mace Mastery
20 BO
Rest into Shout

Maybe?
 
Shout really doesn't help you defense wise all that much, and even if it does- it won't help you against dclone. If frenzy has a synergy, put points in that. If not, Berserk should serve nicely as a secondary skill.

Frenzy does have a synergy, two actually. Taunt and Double swing. But war cry is an awesome skill for frenziers. My new idea is:

20 frenzy
20 bo
20 mace mastery
20 war cry
rest into DS, taunt, berserk. Haven't played a barb since 1.09, this should be fun provided I can find stormlashes. Anyone know what kinda damage stormlashes have?
 
Not ohsogodly. But they are excellent pvm weapons. Use a BOTD CB and a stormlash. Try to look like that fellow in LotR. O_O

at least 50% Fire Res

That's what I use, and kill dc without potions.
 
by far id say smite with absurd CB works best, with hammerdins being close 2nd. alone my hammerdin slapped dclone silly in around 30-40 secs.
