Armor Aura Problem

Hey guys,
I recently got the last piece of my Tal's armor, and for some reason I can only get the glowing aura that it gives if I take off one piece and put it back on after entering a new game. I know that the aura does nothing, and I also know that Tal's set isn't that great, so save any comments like that. I'm just wondering if this is a common occurrence. Thanks for any help.

Edit: I'm also new to these forums, so I'm not positive that this thread belongs here. I apologize if it should be somewhere else, move it by all means.

Re: Armor Aura Problem

Your post is in the right forum, no problem.

I think you strength-bugged your equipment.

Re: Armor Aura Problem

Strength-bugging is when you wear gear then sustains itself on your character. Unfortunately Tal's set does not have the affixes to do such a thing, unless one part is socketed with a strength granting item, like a Pgem or Rune. One example what is used with strength-bugging is Stormshield, which gives 30 strength upon equipping. It can 'wear itself' in some way.

Though I have no experience with the Tal's set, it might be normal for the aura not to show. If you re-enter a game, is there any piece of equipment showing red even when wearing (as in not meating the strength requirements)?

Re: Armor Aura Problem

No, none of the armor shows red. I do have a shield that was given to me by a friend that already had a strength gem in it, could that have anything to do with it?

Re: Armor Aura Problem

Yes, I think that's it. Put that shield in stash and see if you can still wear the set.

Re: Armor Aura Problem

Yeah you were right, I could not wear the set without the shield equipped. I just leveled and put 4 points into strength and am now able to. The aura also always shows up. Thanks a lot for your help, it is appreciated.

Re: Armor Aura Problem

as snickersnack says, tal's set isn't bad at all, try to get your hands on magefists and a spirit shield (this last one requires a lot of str though) and be sure you the 105% faster cast rate (just add up everyting that says "+x%faster cast rate)
104 is not the same as 105, you need 105 (not gonna go in the details on this, just believe me :p)

Re: Armor Aura Problem

I believe Tal's set is the best set in the game. It takes really high end uniques to beat it, and then only for a single element sorc and it only beats Tal's in damage, not versatility and survivability.

Swami is right on saying you want 105 fcr, which you is best to get from magefist gloves (20%) and perfect spirit monarch (35%). Just wear a 10% fcr ring until you can roll a perfect spirit.

Of course if you are a lightning sorc, then you may want 117% fcr to hit the breakpoint for lightning. In that case a 27% spirit will do because you need to wear two fcr rings anyway.

Re: Armor Aura Problem

as a pure lightning sorc however, there are better options then tal's imo (never really played one though, so can't go into detail on this)
