Anyone know what weapon class staves are?

Hi, I've been thinking about making a wolfbarb lately, but to compensate for their frequent low damage, I'd like to make a botd archon staff (and thus keep my vit up as well).

Question is, what mastery do I max? Or is the stave class "unmasterable?"

Sorry if this belongs in the barb forum, I just haven't seen anything about staff-wielders there...

argh, that kinda sucks

O well, I guess that takes the barb out of the picture, unless I use a high damage polearm like tomb reaver... maybe I should make a druid for the archon staff then?

Staves are considered rods, which are considered blunt, which is considered melee. In short, they are boosted by Mace Mastery, which is actually Blunt Mastery.

It might be worth noting in this context that daggers (like Heart Carvers) are not boosted by sword mastery, even though some people believe they are - like me until a few months ago :lol:
