Any way to increase chances of finding Homoculus?

Topic says it all. Are there any tricks/tips to finding one of these? such as a certain act/area that drops more shrunken heads than other acts/areas? So far ive been doin pit runs but Ive been unlucky so far.

Baal on NM is your best choice for an Homunculus: 1 : 1732 with 400MF and P1.
After that, Meph on hell is the second best: 1 : 1958.

Well that's rich! I'm quite sure I've done more than 5000 (hell, I've probably done more than 10000) hell mephruns with well over 400MF.... and I haven't seen a homunculus one single time! :rant:

Keep in mind that each time you make the NM baal run, you've got a 1 : 1732 chance of getting it. This doesn't mean that after 1732 NM baal runs, you'll have your Homunculus. Same thing for HellMeph.

What it means is that if you average out all the NM baal runs everybody has ever performed since the 1.10 patch, the number slowly begins to approach 1 : 1732.


... This is for anybody who thinks that the more runs they do, the better chance they have of getting a Homunculus.

it IS true that if you do more hell meph runs you have a better chance. It doesn't mean that you have a better than average chance of finding one on each individual run.

Don't know about the literal latin translation, but dictionary.com has the following:

n 1: a person who is very small but who is not otherwise deformed or abnormal [syn: manikin, mannikin]

2: a tiny fully formed individual that (according to the discredited theory of preformation) is supposed to be present in the sperm cell

No... I was right. According to Dictionary.com 'Hom oculus' means 'same eye'.
Dictionary.com didn't return any results for 'Homoculus' though. :lol:

Obviously that was way too obscure. Didn't help that the forum blanked out a particular word. Maybe I should have talked about....

I've found 2 Homunculus' in my short ladder 1 career. If I remember correctly, both were dropped by nm baal.
I know my first one was dropped by nm baal. Pretty sure the 2nd was too.

The best way to find a homunculus is to pay an exorbitant fee for one. I can guarantee that once you have traded your hard earned items in badly overpaying for your much sought after homunculus you will have one drop for you almost immediately.

This works on all items.
