Now the boring part where I drone on and on about the build...

This build was great fun. Normal was...well...normal, and I almost quit before I got started because I find normal barbarian characters to be hideously boring. I finally got Warcry and turned the players setting down from 8 to 3 at that point, so I could use warcry more effectively. NM was a breeze, and I didn't die once through there. I'm sure I could've done the whole mess on /players 8, but kept it at 3 for speed. A1 Hell was pretty easy, and I made it all the way to A2 before dying, which was a huge surprise. Hell was also quite difficult in spots - He was pretty much useless in A2 after the palace cellar. Acts 3 and 4 weren't too bad, and A5 only had problems with PI Moon Lords that appeared in various spots. Baal's minions were a piece of cake, and I blew through all 5 sets in about 8 minutes. Baal, on the other hand, took almost an hour of shouting, opening town portals and buying mana potions. I think I spent close to 400,000 gold on mana potions during that epic struggle!

I'm not sure what i'm going to do with him now. It takes waaaay too long to kill act bosses, and I don't think I could give him much in terms of MF gear before he gets too weak. I've got spare IK's Will and Skin of the Vipermagi, so I might try socketing them with some PTopaz's for some MF and see what happens.

Hope you all enjoyed reading this, and I encourange everyone to try one of these if you can! They're great fun!

Congrats on the Pat! It sounds like a fun build!

Congratulations! Does warcry damage everyone, even PI? MI? I've never used it extensively. Actually I don't remember using it at all.

It doesn't damage PI monsters, but it does stun them. The stun effect works against everyone but act bosses. I even managed to stun Lister for most of the time he was alive. Most packs don't stand a chance when they can't attack. And at level 27, that's 6.2 seconds of baddies standing around doing nothing.

Very impressive EC  especially as you did it untwinked! (appears to be untwinked anyway) You really couldn't buy a better merc armor from Larzuk? That stingy bastage!

I see you mention FCR on your wand. Does that affect warcries?

I think melee barbs are rather boring too. I'm almost tempted to try a singer in HC, but might just wait for the right tourney :)

Actually, I twinked him good. The silly part is that was the best gear I had that I could twink him with. And yes, Larzuk wouldn't sell me anything useful. For most of hell, he was selling normal quality armor with unhelpful mods. One shopping trip yielded 5 assorted armors "of spikes." He did offer to sell me something useful once, but he wanted 2.8 million gold for it.

And yes, FCR does work with warcries. That 50% between the wand and the Skin is really noticible.

They're really fun, but I wouldn't reccomend trying it in HC. You'll get beaten in A2 like you owe the whole act money. :D

Thanks for your replies, everyone. That's why I come here so much. :)

Wow. Excellent work on a truly unique build.

Anyone remember how 1.10 was supposed to ruin builds like this for Single Player? :flip:

A well deserved drink for you, El Communisto. :drink:

Congrats! That is a great job! What will your next char be? Another whacky one? Or something more traditional?

Thanks for the praise everyone. :D

I really don't know what my next character will be. Maybe a wirtadin?

Advice for the Singer barb -
-Find potion is your friend. Use it and use it often.
-Full Rejuv potions are your friend. Save them and drink them regularly. Super Mana Potions only give you 250 mana, so you need 4 or 5 of them to fill your mana ball, and at 1000 gold a pop, that gets expensive fast.
-Buy yourself a Bahamut's Wand of the Magus as soon as possible. They should be available around A1 NM. Unless you have the runes for Heart of the Oak, it's unlikely you will find a better wand for this build.
-Learn to play with the speakers off. The constant grunting will drive everyone around you completely insane. My wife threatened to do very mean things to me if I didn't turn off the sound. :)

Are you saying that your wife gets aroused when she hears a barbarian serenade?

:o

Congradulations on the whacky build. I've played a few mp games with them, and they sure make monsters easier to attack. You could bring him along with some of the pit/wsk runs people play here. I'm sure that he would be welcome with the BO and stun effect.
