Act V Red portal to Pindleskin

Kwestion number kazillion and six

What closes the portal to him? Activating the waypoint in the halls of vaught?
or killing Nihlatak? Or both?

Does any1 know?
I dont know because I always set out to do both in one session...

So I could activate the waypoint and NOT kill Nihlathak and the red portal would remain open? Not that this would serve any rational purpose, just trying to get the details right. :laugh:

Or, you could kill Nihlathak and not get the portal.

There are some reasons for doing one or the other:

Getting the WP and not killing Nili: Playing in 1.07 rack running in the Halls is the best/only way to get the Cranium Basher and sacred armors.

Killing Nili and not getting the WP: Well, you might really really really want to personalise something...... or you could be anal about completeing all quests (but then you'd probably be anal about getting all WPs too....)

There are some reasons for doing one or the other:

The usual reason for not touching the waypoint is for Pindle runners who still want to kill Nillie (if only to say they did). Didn't know about the v1.07 reason but I've only got v1.11 so that's not a big issue.

I'll just put myself in the AR category - touch all WPs, finish all quests (though quest rewards are often ignored). If I want to run Pindle for a while, I'll just have to do that before I kill the creep downstairs.
