A Spirit to Replace Spirit of Barbs?

Technically it should be something to only help an elemental druid since oak is for both, and how is for melee. But its still kinda unbalanced between say fury and windy... so i dont know...

Spirit of Stone
-Adds % physical damage resistance at 2% per level, level 1 grants 10% to start.

Spirit of Gaia
-Adds % elem/mag resistance at 3% per level, level 1 grants 20% to start.

Spirit of Talent
-Adds 1 to all skills every 6-7 levels. These count towards synergies.

Spirit of Puppets
-Increases stats of summons, and converts enemies to your side. Enemies that strike the spirit have a 50% chance to be permantly converted to to your side. At level 1, 1 enemy converted, 20% to max life, strength, and run/walk speed. Increases at 1 enemy converted every 4-5 levels, 5% life & strength bonus per level, and 3% run/walk bonus per level. Converted enemies are permanent so long as the spirit lives. ONLY affects converted enemies and summons.

Spirit of Slumber
-Randomly puts an enemy within effect radius to sleep (incapacitate them). At level 1, 1 enemy put to sleep for 10 seconds. Rate enemies are put to sleep and duration of sleep increases at 1 enemy per 2 levels and 1.5 seconds per level. At level 20, 10 enemies asleet for 40 seconds. Striking a sleeping enemy does 4x normal damage.

Spirit of Fortune
-Increases chance to proc, at 1-2% per level, also increases chance that attack will do max damage by 5% per level (i.e. if weapon damage is 100-200, at lev 20 you will do 200 damage).

Spirit of Greed
-Increases magic and gold find at 10-15% per level, level 1 grants 25% to start. Opens locked chests.

Spirit of Stowing
-Increases the size of your backpack at 4 units vertically every 4 levels, and the size of the Horadric Cube at 4 units vertically every 8 levels. Level 1 grants 4 units vertically for each to start.

Also spirit of barbs could be improved as well.

-Adds % physical damage resistance at 2% per level, level 1 grants 10% to start.

Spirit of Gaia
-Adds % elem/mag resistance at 3% per level, level 1 grants 20% to start.

these would have to be heavily... uuh.. diminishingly returnified.
A wolf with 50 %pdr, would hit 60% at lvl one and 80% at level 10.
I dont remember how much res my wolf has now, but 75% would be pwnd very easily. Can you say titan?

Spirit of wind w/o the pulsing kb would be the one i would use ... assuming the ias was wias and not oias.

If that existed .. gg maulers.

Pedu,

It's all hypothetical . . . Perhaps reducing the amount of damage reduced (?!?) per level, and adding some other bonus would be a better alternative.

Spirit of Stone
-Adds % physical damage resistance at 1% per level (max 20-25%), and adds a defense bonus per character level, at skill levels 1-5 - 1 pt def per character level, 6-10 - 2 pts def per c.level, 11-15 - 3 pts def per c.level, etc., etc.. Would have a cap of 5-6 def pts per c.level.

The Spirit of Gaia idea is fine the way it is (imho). As hell resists will be quite low to start with anyhow. Have you ever happened to take a look at the skills available to paladin's (?), now that's overpowered!

Yep, i have seen the paladin skills.
But i mean, a fury druid is viable in pvm, and getting max res and max %pdr with puny investment is kinda pushing it. But yea, i do know the pala is overpowered and the druid is underpowered. And i do know that this is hypothetical. But still, everytime some thread is started in the lines of "what if..." the most part of the suggestions are kinda overpowered.

the big "what if" question should be

What if blizzard cared about D2?

I think the world would end.
Fire would rain from the sky
City's would fall into the sea
Cats and Dogs would walk hand in hand
Anne Coulter would marry Al Gore :scared:

Complete and utter chaos.......

I do think they care. They released a new patch not so long ago, they cant really say "screw them" cos then it would be widely known that blizzard actually stopped supporting a game that still had lots of active players.
If theyre trying to get rid of players by not fixing lag, and generally to take alot of time fixing small problems is anyones guess. But theyre doing a hell of a good job with it...

tmd turka,

Excellent slander of the !@##$@*^% that is Anne Coultier. She deserves a nice vacation to South Africa whare she can meet a large gang of natives and experience some of the "stimulating night life" there.

On another note, the real problem with another patch is that any significant changes would result in significant tweaking/playtesting/balancing. Just as Pedu ponted out, most "what if" scenarios are overpowered from the outset, it's practically guaranteed that balancing would have to be done no matter what changes were made. Consequently, Blizzard won't (imho) make any more significant changes to this game as it is as balanced as they care for it to be (whether druids are the underdogs or not). Besides I'd rather they focused their attention towards D3 . . .
