Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Your count must be different from my count then, I think Korial is at 6 if I'm reading the votes right and its 9 to lock.

So what are our options?

-We lynch korial, if he comes up town FoE is either lying or isn't sane, if he comes up mafia coju is either lying, isn't sane, or something messed with the N1 results.
-We lynch val, we have no results on him right now through investigation so its based on previous information.

The one that isn't lynched can obviuosly be investigated either the next night or day phase but of course results are subject to speculation and trust of the individual who does the investigation.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Hmmm... I must have counted wrong then. I agree with Pyro's logic about Val not giving us any information.

I'll likely be pretty busy most the day, so I'll go ahead and put my vote in.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

I think korial is definitely the best option. Most likely to be scum and gives us info on claimed roles.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

I know this won't help my case, but atm I have a friend over for visit, so I'll make a quick reply.

I will role claim once he has left and I have time available to sit down and make a proper reply. Hopefully it won't take too long, and that if my defence is good enough, we can still find another good lynch candidate.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

@Coju

Do you think FoE is making up his results regarding yourself/korial?
If so why did he proclaim his result on you to be innocent?

@FoE

Do you think coju is making up his results?
Do you think coju's results could have been altered?
At what point did you decide to steal Goryani's role?

@Both
Do you think its possible you or your supposive counterpart are not sane?
What are the possibilities of there being two cop roles?

Since I got the innocent result on coju I believe he is telling the truth.
Yes, I think it's possible his results could have been altered. We are a lot of PRs.
Pretty much as soon as he claimed cop, I chose to steal it. Reasons:

- Always wanted to play cop.
- I wanted to get the Role Thief role out in "rotation". I figured, that the more the role is used, the more we will know. Whether this is a good tactic, I'm not sure, but it sounds reasonably to me.
- Wanted to hide the cop role from mafia.
- I was able to test Gory's claim.

If anybody is insane, I figure it is coju. If I have understood the "insane cop" role correctly it means that all your results are wrong. This would mean that my result on coju actually was "guilty", which means he is mafia. This doesn't make any sense to me. And yes, with two cops, I can see why it would make sense to make one insane.

I'm no mafia expert, but with 21 PRs I could see there being two cops. Especially if one was made insane. I'm purely guessing, but it doesn't seem too farfetched to me.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Unvote: Valhauros I still think theres something not right there. I will let korial make his plea, so I won't lock him right nowbut if we haven't heard from him in a while i will lock if people I trust right now thinks it the right thing to do. I will be on the road for about 5-6 hours today starting in less than 2 hours, so my vote will have to come before then.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

I will be here for 20 mins more. I will maybe be back for day end, but I can't promise it.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Thanks for believing in me and letting my live for another day! Now, regarding my night actions...

On night one, I targeted myself due to a lack of a better target (I didn't believe the Paladin claim). The ability does nothing in this case, but I did it so if someone tracked me, it would should the aforementioned action. Considering the mafia didn't kill me (hoping the town's only explanation would be that I'm mafia myself, I assume), I was certain I would be investigated, tracked or aimed for any other fact-finding action.

On night two, I targeted Goryani because I thought Mafia's priority would certainly be to eliminate the Role Thief component as soon as possible. Last game, this role took a large part in securing information and relatively confirming the players' alignment, so it's a imminent threat for them. By the way, his role reveal explains perfectly why scum chose the dream, if they indeed know what every of these do...

If I were mafia, Goryani would have invariably been my NK target, but it would also have been the Doctor's. By using a global role block, they eliminate Gory's action & protection and the ability for the doctor to target him again.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Forgot to vote... the thing is, are you all going to try again to lynch me tomorrow for giving him the last vote, despite I tried to get him lynched for three consecutive days? Anyway, I'm off for the day... I hope he's mafia.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

Bad Ash, got any good reasons why I shouldn't kill you overnight and do something else instead?

Still have a couple questions. Night 2 you targeted Gory - did you receive any information that makes you believed you were blocked? Or are you just going off the facts that noone died and Gory was unable to switch roles?

Also, your theory is that doc can't target the same person twice and that he went for gory last night?

Did you mean to lock kol? Not sure if that was a great idea before he claimed, but oh well, doesn't seem to likely we can switch trains at this point anyways.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

My guest have left now, so time to make a post.

Didn't see any questions directly pointed at me, so I don't see a reason to quote anyone. That leaves the role claim.

I am the Arcane Sorcere, specializing in misdirection and counter magic. Each night I can choose between 2 actions. I can either choose to block someone's active ability, or I can force a persons ability to hit me instead of its intended target.

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

@Goryani...all this appears kosher to you??

Very kosher. FoE knew about the mechanics of the Paladin role I never mentioned (results received before end of day) though some players assumed so (if FoE turns out to be scum, take a gander at those players). FoE even dropped multiple hints on D2 before I claimed my role was stolen.

I don't know for sure if a day action can be used when it seems night actions suffered a global roleblock. The story indicates the moon hid/left/whatever, stopping actions which require the moon (night actions), while the sun was unaffected, allowing actions which require the sun (day actions). I'm not suspicious of FoE being able to investigate on D2 as it seems reasonable from the story.

Works for me. I can kill BA by night then, unless he can give me a good enough reason not to.

I was considering some thievery. That begs some questions: What happens if we target the same player? Would I still be the role thief due to a dead target? Would I have a new role and you kill the new role thief? Since it's a permanent ability would you get a one shot version? If you do get a 1 shot version of the rolethief, what happens to the necromage role?

It'll be like crossing our beams!

I can now, as I just got this information. It is the complete opposite of what you claimed: I got that Korail is "Innocent."

I investigated him on N1. I didn't want to say anything, as it's still early in the game: Especially since the cop outed himself on d1 (Or d2..either or...). I thought about sacrificing korial instead of outing myself. (a dead cop, another town loss with korail, why give the mafia another cop to kill?) But, since FredofErik decides to seemingly try and save Val... It looks like we got 2 mafia on our hands....

I'll

Vote: Valhauros

in hopes of a quicker lynch.

hurmmm... y'all didn't think there was another cop did you? Oh, by the way, I'm a cop. The Night Cop.

Role name? N2 target? N2 result? Were you given any information about your sanity? Have you deduced anything about your sanity? Have you deduced anything about FoE's sanity? Do you think FoE is mafia simply because of the differing result on korial or is there something else?

Re: Roles of Madness. Mafia Thread

And any guesses on why you turned up anti-town korial?

Goryani, be my guest, I'll be most likely targeting him tonight. We can try. I'm guessing you'll get his role, I'll kill the thief and gain a 1x thief ability. If I use it, I'll be whatever I get and the necromage disappears.

Can you point to me your post where you first voted Val?

Goryani's "I have a new role! I'm now the power thief. Role stealer":
I beg you, please steal my role... I hate it, and, although I should, I'm not going to use it for the length of the game. Considering your playstyle, you will certainly find it more useful.

Now, regarding my night actions...

On night one, I targeted ....

On night two, I targeted ...

Which of these statements are wholly true. Which of these statements are wholly false. Which of these statements are partially true and partially false?
