I'm looking to plug the last hole in my Unique Jewelry portion of the grail as well as make some progress on the ethereal grail so I'm going to run Hell Mephisto for a while. These "guess how long it will take" contests seem to be en vogue so I thought I'd make one too.
So what am I looking to find?
I'm running a Blizard sorceress with 738 MF% on P1 which has odds of just a shade under 8000:1 per kill.
So what's in it for you?
You have a chance to win anything (S/U) I find in this quest with the exception of any grailers. The one caveat is that since I am also collecting a perfect grail, I will replace any non-grailer find that has a higher "perfect grail" score with any existing copy that I already have in my stash. So for example, if I find a Mara's with 24% or higher resist all, I'll keep it but make available my 23% Mara's as a prize. Of course if I don't find a Mara's, I keep the 23% one
I will also limit the rainbow facets from the prize pool as described below.
There are only two grailers that Meph can drop for me including Metalgrid. Stormlash is the other (which ironically he has already dropped for me in a MFO once upon a time only later to be taken as a prize). Therefore, the prizes will probably be good. If I find a SoJ, you can claim it. Interested in an eth Kelpie? I've got a near-perfect one already so that may be yours too.
The top 5 closest guesses will win the following:
1. Up to 20% of my finds (your choice)
2. Up to 10% of my finds (your choice)
3. Up to 5% of my finds (your choice)
4. Up to 3% of my finds (your choice)
5. Up to 1.5% of my finds (your choice)
After the top 5 have made their picks, anyone else who has made a guess can make requests for items. In the interest of the trade pool, I will run 1.12a SC, using CRM/RWM. Also, to prevent all of the good stuff being taken by the winner, the top 5 will each pick 1 item (2 for winner) in order before the winner makes any additional requests, and so on.
So, the picking will go like this:
Say I find 1000 items.
Winner picks 2 items
2nd place picks 1 item
3rd place picks 1 item
4th place picks 1 item
5th place picks 1 item
Winner picks up to 198 additional items
2nd place picks up to 99 additional items
3rd place picks up to 49 additional items
4th place picks up to 29 additional items
5th place picks up to 14 additional items
everyone else can make requests on first come, first serve.
Rainbow Facets may only be claimed with the first picks from the top 5.
I'll also limit taking to only one of each item unless there is a compelling reason to give out more (i.e. want to build a dual Ali Baba wielding Barb)
How do you win?
Guess the number of S/U's I will collect before finding Metalgrid. I will pick up everything green and gold that drops from Mephisto so chances are there will be a lot of loot. (I don't really care to track runs so I won't). Whenever I find a golden amulet, I'll be sure to ID it before the next run to see if I can stop.
