*Serverside patch* duping fixed/connection interrupted ifr

I did not read all the posts, just the first few pages and the last one, so sorry if somebody has mentioned this.

I play on Europe, where for a while, it was more or less impossible to ever create a game, let alone play one for a few minutes without lag. Creating, joining and playing are now fine, and in about 2 days of various public games I got just a few CI's...

What's the point?

All of this was done on a very, very poor Dial-Up that I usually never use but was relegated to this weekend. Perhaps the ultimate test?

my ping from rural Australia to USWest has always been in the 250-300 range as 'standard', with regular spikes from 1k-6k.

since the serverside update, ping has dropped to ~200'ish, BUT: my framerates and 'general cursor responsivness levels' have SKYROCKETED. the game is much easier to play & duel with, even with a 200 ping! ping still spikes occasionally, but nowhere near as bad or for as long as previously.

Where in Australia are you? Or did I ask you that already?

Agrgeed. I remember when they weren't very common, and were hard to come by...now it they seem to be one of the easiest things to get. :tongue:



 
D2 is dead, WoW is all Blizz cares about" person to comment in the thread, but maybe I'm being silly :D


this is excellent, the game is real, ruststorm, 90% all dupes wiped from bn, this is just awsome, now we can all play the game again, yes i wrote a huge blizzard dosent care article, but thats over now, now its time to....

Start over...
 
I play from Bucharest,Romania,Europe,not the greatest connection ever.My usual ping was from 100 to 200 vefore the patch.Now it usually stays at 95,with some occasional skyrocketings upt to 4k,but that maybe just my connection because it has not lasted me more than 10 seconds.Also,I haven't had a SINGLE FTJ or CI...best play I had in online Diablo ever...Nowadays,I can leave my char in the town for HOURS at an end without a problem...before the patch I got a CI in no time...no more dupes means the economy will get fixed.
There will be enough private dupers to support the uber runewords,I'm pretty sure of that,as there certainly are other methods of duping stuff.I'm just glad my friends and I got loaded with endgame stuff before this happened.Wish you all GL and HF!
 
Im in Amsterdam and Saturay and Sunday played amazingly well.

I did get continuous CI's in Trav as there were about 3 packs. Even though I killed them all, eventually, I could not walk past them without CI, maybe too many bodies also affects it.

I exited the game and created a new one and have had no problems since. Even when doing Pindle's minions.

As I can enter games immediately after exiting one I'm now more afraid of getting a temp ban for exitiing and recreating too quickly - the ftj thing mean that this has been impossible for quite a while.

This also means I can fail to find any good items even quicker....

Update 28/2. Europe

Duping: All lag methods I know are fixed. Including meteor/bonewall, act5 bonewalls, zon,pala etc etc. Any spell spam will cause C/I in less than 3 mins. Thus lag dupes aren't possible anymore. That's it. Rumor has it that closed dupes still exist. But this rumor is eternal.

Ruststorms: You are being fooled/tarded. 1.10 ruststorm deleted hacked itms ONLY. None of the dupes were erased. Think about it. To delete every duped item they would have to compare each itm of each character on each account against EACH other. That could take days/weeks considering a char can hold 20+ itms, each account has 8 chars and each player has 5-6 accounts (dupers got 10+). Running a ruststorm against the "legendary" 100000 dmg grief or the remaining occu rings or wizzy gloves is possible but if there was a way to do an active ruststorm against all duped itms without closing the servers for a week don't you think they would do it every 6months or so?

CIs: Impossible to play the game right now. I got a CI when xferring probably for dropping itms too quick (used autoit). Most "spamming" heroes are unplayable (my 200fcr fireballer, light sorc, and ctc frenzy barb). It happens alot in the popular places like cows and baalruns (70% maybe more of those games CI for me) crippling any activity beyong keyrunning and solo mfing. It is silly and needs to be fixed. This "dupe fix" is the work of amateurs.

General Bnet: Things are smoother. There is still the occassional laggy game probably by dupers still making attempts. FTJs are vastly reduced and when the game doesn't CI latency seems to be better than ever (makes sense, fewer people and noone is permitted to lag the servers)

Fine for me on West, no CI's, even when doing cow runs, haven't had any ftj's yet, although i did get restricted from realm last night, going through alot of mules, occasionally it freezes for about 5sec or so... no biggy



 
I'm getting lots of ci's during baal runs, I had about 8 yesterday luckily no temp. bans. Plus I've been getting horrible lag spikes where the game freezes while mf'ing with my hdin in private games. I hope Blizzard can get this fixed soon because it's just about as frustrating to play like this as it was to play with the almost non-stop lag we had before the server patch.

i have the same problem, everytime i play with my poisonmancer or summoner and do mfruns or keyruns/ubers i get CI. and i can't duel with my bone necro because if the duel takes more then a couple of seconds i get CI. i was strong enough not to quit when there was lag and dupes but now i cant play with my chars so i haven't played since the fix is out. seems my effort not to quit on the dupewave was wasted...

Yup, they absolutely dont get the idea of fixing D2X

I use to call this as cosmetic patch.
Better in short term, but not in the long run.

I start to get C/I too in Tranvical. Everytime I approached councils and they start spamming their hydras on me......ek.... C/I..... can't kill councils..... can't finish the game....... quit D2X?
 
Ever since the first night, were 3 CI's took place for a then unknown reason, I haven't had a single one. However this could be a result of not playing public games or games with more than 2 characters. Sorry but I don't feel like getting tppk'd in a pub game. However, its a godsend to not have to worry so much about lag while playing HC. I started HC about a week or 2 before this fix, and my first death was due to a bad spike, followed by a hosing from Diablo. Pity, he had | much life left.

I have however, heard a few people in the channel I go to that a Necro keep crashing there games by spamming bonewall.

FTJ's have happened, but only like 3 times now, maybe even only twice. However, I wasn't tagged and could make a game right after that, were as before, I would have to wait about 5 minutes to try again, or switch to another char.

Still hoping for a reset though, along with an adjustment in rune drops.
