Succubus are sexy female humanoids. Topless and wearing only a g-string, these temptresses are among the most annoying creatures in the game. They attack with Blood Stars, firing them in a non-stop stream from a distance. Their true nature is shown when a player closes into melee range, and the Succubi turn tail and walk away, moving at the same speed as the player. | Succubus are sexy female humanoids. ===Killing Techniques===
Witches are not very troubling to mage characters, and they are a special favorite of Rogues. Since the witches stand perfectly still, they are easy targets for any projectile, and non fireproof Witches are sitting ducks for Fireballs. Chain Lightning can be more difficulty to use, if there are multiple witches in sight, splitting up the bolts. It's best to walk back around a corner then, to lure the witches into range, all in a single file line. Chain will devastate them then.
Melee characters have much more of a challenge, since unlike other fleeing ranged attackers, witches do not hesitate or stop to shoot while being pursued, letting you get close enough for a quick hit. They will walk forever, leading your character across an entire level until a wall blocks their path. Killing them without a ranged attack requires guile, good timing, Stone Curse, or skillful use of the [[D1_Warrior#Telekilling|Telekill]]. Be sure your character has high to/hit. This can be even more important than haste, since even if you don't stun lock the witch, you should be able to hit her before she can walk out of range unless you miss a swing.
Use the terrain to trap witches. Corners are a great quick kill; with one or more witches following you, retreat around a corner and wait a few beats, then walk back to the corner. Once you learn to gauge a witch's pursuit speed, it's possible to move back around the corner just as the witch is in range, and slash her to death before she can walk away. Another simple way to get them is to herd them into corners. If you stand diagonally they will not try to walk away. Use walls as well, get a witch with her back to a wall and walk straight towards her. She'll wait until you are close, then go left or right, but you should be able to cut her off diagonally and finish her.
The IntF of the witches matters; the smarter ones will move sooner, and won't hesitate to get in one last shot as you close in. If you pursue a witch and miss your hit, don't keep chasing. Walk away at an angle, let her start shooting, and then walk straight at her again, especially if she's got a wall behind her. In levels with lots of small rooms, use them. Sight some witches and walk away back into a small room, then when one or two come around the corner walk right at them. They'll walk in a straight line, and if there's a corner in that direction, you've got them. Try to take on just one or two witches at a time; their Bloodstars aren't that damaging if you have magic resistance, but taking steady hits while you hunt them down will steadily drain your health.
