Act Two, Sand Maggot Hive. The Necromancer showing off a new skill here. This one is almost certainly Poison Nova. It's never been seen before, but it certainly seems like that must be it, from the outward burst of poison in the nova shape. He is in the Sand Maggot Lair, an area of the game we've only see in one gameplay movie to date. We explored it extensively at E3 though, and it's a very cool area. You can see the walls are curved overhead, and it's all a big system of tunnels, with some larger rooms like this one. There is a chest on the floor to the right of the Necromancer, with a large Sand Maggot of a new color right next to it. Possibly a higher level of Maggot, that you will find in the Hive. There is also a Queen Maggot, and she was incredible at E3. Very big. Wait until you see her in the actual game. ;) Also, there is some sort of smaller creature, apparently a Sand Leaper, right next to the Necromancer, and it's getting blasted full force by the Nova. It's turned a bright green, showing that it's poisoned. The Sand Maggot might be immune to this attack, since at E3 they were busily spitting poison at every character that they had a chance to do so towards, and most monsters in Diablo II will be resistant or immune to their own type of attack. -- 3d-enhanced shot, 8/99
