The Dark Library #15

Last time we took a look at a forgotten creature and a lost culture from the darker less trafficked wing of The Dark Library. This time around we check out another forgotten monster and another chapter from The Key. So grab your torch and watch your step as we take a look at some of Sanctuary’s forgotten creatures and stories.

This week we continue with this lost creatures of sanctuary book with a follow up chapter from the brutal beast, and begin with the Harrier Imp. Here take a look at this picture while i read a little from the book.

Harrier Imps are nasty small demons that have adapted to live on the backs of Brutal Beasts. The Harrier Imps appear as a cross between a pterodactyl and a imp and are known for their loud, eagle-like screams. Harrier Imps are very mobile and fast. Harrier imps harass potential prey for the appetites of Brutal Beasts.

Next time I’ll show you another lost creature in this book. Now lets go on to an old book that deserves some attention. Lets open up the the tome: The Key, and to Chapter 11: Enemy. Here let me read a part from this chapter for you.

Pain exploded in her side. She tried to scream, but no sound emerged from her parched, swollen throat. She rolled and curled up instinctively, drawing her arms around herself for protection. The next blow connected with her shoulder blade. Red light flashed across her vision. She tensed for the next blow.

Grime caked Shael’s eyes, making it an effort to open her lids. Her throat rasped when she swallowed. A three-toed, clawed foot stood in front of her face. Slowly, with her neck giving little jolts of pain at the movement, she looked upward into the snarling face of a slayer.
