Summer of Gaming Event will Include Blizzard

With no E3 this year and other industry events canned due to COVID-19, other arrangements have been made. One of the events to take place is IGN’s Summer of Gaming. Blizzard is to make an appearance.

Summer of Gaming will take place in June alongside the other main event organised by The Guerilla Collective. Yesterday an indie event called Indie Live was also announced. These events all take place at the start of June and viewers itching for some gaming news and reveals.

Blizzard is just the latest edition to the IGN event but there’s no details on what will be shown or possibly revealed. Considering Blizzard usually misses E3 this can is a bonus so early in the year. Perhaps they are airing on the side of caution in case they have to cancel BlizzCon later this year.

It would be jumping the gun to expect a Diablo 2 Resurrected announcement if that is actually a thing. We can only speculate at the moment but they’ll likely show off some WoW stuff an maybe even Overwatch 2. Stay tuned for more as June gets closer.

IGN is proud to announce our new Summer of Gaming event, a global, digital event set to begin this June to bring you the latest news and impressions around upcoming games and the next generation of console hardware.

IGN will be collaborating with a number of partners for the Summer of Gaming, including 2K, Square Enix, SEGA, Bandai Namco, Amazon, Google Stadia, Twitter, Devolver Digital, THQ Nordic, and more. Expect more details in the coming weeks. The event will include live broadcasts and on-demand programming featuring IGN’s editorial coverage of the work of game developers from around the world.
