Your first character after reset

Egads!!!

I'm split ><

I'm either doing a blizz sorc then hammerdin (my initial plan) or trapper then hammerdin.

My lil bro plays with me and he is making a orb/tk/block sorc, so I suppose she can do the boss runs, in which case my trapper could be good for cowing and general mfing for runes and whatnot...

Decisions, decisions...

I'll probably go with a CS/LF Javazon with Jab and Merc to take care of LIs. I know, I know...it's a cookie cutter and other styles level or magic find better. But I seem to be able to get these folks to live, so I'm sticking with what I know. :D

Good luck to y'all in the up coming ladder reset!

dp

Trapper for me as well....I knotice that the majority here in HC are going with a Trapper first, over in the SC forums, hardly anyone is going Trapper first.

Well it basically comes down to:do you want to do eld/shenk/pindle/cows or do meph/andy and then make a char that can do a little of both. So then its either javazon, trapper, wind druid maybe, etc. or sorc.

Very nice 'tar, rev129. :D

I need some advice from you guys. I would most like to make an Orb Sorc first, but to those who have done so before: how do you get to lvl 30? When everyone's untwinked, doesn't it take an Orb build like twice as long just to get to lvl 30 than everyone else?

I've never been around for a ladder reset, but when I started up a while after the resets both times I had the most luck with Blizzard Sorcs just because they can start killing at lvl 6 rather than lvl 30 (I don't even like Blizzard that much). I've self-leveled more than my share of Orb Sorcs, but it's always been with accumulated starter gear and around people who were already somewhat established in the ladder season.

Just want to get some testimonials I suppose. Thanks.

must be different can't make sorc or trapper... HMMMM, probably will do the build I was making until I got bored and stopped, phoenix strike assassin with cb kick on the back up (hopefully I get the skills for it).

Or maybe start with fury druid, I just love fury druids, hmmm maybe an avenger or tesladin or psn nec (I just love psn necs) or hmmm....

Well I have no clue hurray for dial-up making my decisions hard!

Not.

New patch means I can't play without the CDs, and lent them to a friend of mine.

Not that I care to get 'em back. I'm sticking to WoW.

I have changed my mind from a hammerdin to a trapper. I have discovered they are insanely fast in normal. Now I havent played this guy past lvl 20 but what skills do you use?

I was thinking on:
20 Shock web
20 Charged bolt
20 Lightening sentry
20 Death sentry
And the rest in Fade.

Am I missing something since I am VERY inexperienced with trappers. Is it eg worth putting points in weapon block? I was thinking I am just running around anyways.

I didn't have too much trouble. I still shot/smacked at anything I could with my party, and leveled along with them until I could finally really start killing with orb. If you are playing with a good party, you really don't need to have as much killing power as you do playing in public games.

Doesn't the term "pro" mean professional, which is defined as: having a particular profession as a permanent career. So unless you made money off your 67 druid how was he pro? :P

Edit: Sorry it's fun giving the new guys hard times. :)
Post reported.

owned!

j/k :D

A good party is key. I suggest you jump in one of the teams floating around these forums if you can. If not, grab a 3 o/s bow, stick the highest sapphire, and two topaz you have, in it. Keep your merk at your level. Make sure he has the best weapon possible, preferably three sockets. Frost Nova will probably be your best spell to use. Nova 'em and let your merk do the work.

If you're still stuck, run countess over and over. Rhyme, lore, stealth are all under level 28 and extremely useful. Hell, you could even shop a nice 2 o/s staff and make a leaf and see if that helps out any.

=( Don't expect that keys will really have any value after reset, same with the body parts. No demand until theres enough 90s, and by then there will be tons floating about.

As for the class I'll play... thinking Blizzard Sorc... I just hate not having teleport. :/ Though I was actually contemplating a bow-zon or an army necro :D Necros seem to be decent, army ones start off well and can solo well... d'no.

cleric. clerics get so much love at ladder resets in the pubbies. last reset i did a cleric and saved so many lives, especially melee chars. melee chars get a lot of the good drops untwinked because the sorcs have to hang back. a couple of barbs whose lives i kept saving were grabbing all the good caster stuff and handing it off to me. was given a suicide branch and two rare rings with fcr on the first day. once you get to hell pindle a cleric can mf as well as a trapper.

for orbsorcs in pubbies - grab a staff with enchant on it. tell them you're an enchanter, if they complain the chant is weak tell them it's because you don't have fire mastery yet. they'll carry you to 30 willingly.

Haha nice, never thought of that [enchant stuff] :) Cleric sounds interesting, I'll have to look into it.

Wow definately going with Cleric, ssounds like a ton of fun and is a big change!

Poison/SUmmon nec for me! I was told they are darn good at clearing Pits, which is not dangerous and also drops so many goodies. How about it? =)
