Your fears for Diablo III

No dout most people on these forums would kill for a release of Diablo III and it would seem with the sucess of DII it is a possibility.

However would you have any fears/concerns about a release?

My only worry would be that it would be over complicated, allow me to explain further....

The reason I like DII so much is you can simply put some music on switch your brain of and play for hours on end.

Its simply game play that is addictive and just as rewarding.

I'm I getting my point across? I dont think I am too well....

But does anyone else have concerns that DIII wont be up to the standards of addictivness of DII?

I just hope that the developer doesnt go the common route now . Graphics > everything else. Just look at Oblivion. Its so much simplier than Morrowind that it makes me sick. Sure , graphics are great , but whats left of the gameplay?

Edit : oh yeah , how could i have forgotten. Turning it into MMORPG. Thanks for reminding nebux

don't even dare to talk about oblivion
i just think that all new games are the same good graphics no playability ( oblivion is here) in over 4 years i brought(?) lot's of games and few of them are finished, most of them just getting dust.

MMORPG = massive multiplayer online role playing game. The best example is WoW. Well , i cannot say WoW is a bad game , because it isnt (i read somewhere that Blizzard gets 2 million dollars per day from subscribers). Just it isnt my type of thing. Still , there's a big chance that d3 will be a MMORPG, because they are so profitable :sad2:

same here, but it if it is a mmorpg, im sure i wont be the only one to try it anyway.

The big problem for me with WoW, EQ2, and other MMORPG's is solo play. You cannot finish the game alone. You need to group to be able to see the endgame and get the best gear, which means joining a guild and participating in long play sessions. That just does not fit my lifestyle. If Diablo III is this type of game, I would probably still buy it but I doubt it would hold my interest for more than 6 months.

The Diablo tradition is for a SINGLE hero to save the world. I think Diablo III should continue this tradition, and be a solo-play game in a MMORPG world. This would allow for social play in small group settings and a trading economy, but still give the solo player a chance to have the best items and complete the game alone.

I doubt that they'd make yet another MMORPG, to be honest. Maybe another WoW, but it wouldn't really make sense for them to have two MMOs running side-by-side (D3 and WoW). You figure anyone that would play an MMO D3 is probably already playing WoW, and it's unlikely they'd continue their subscription with WoW if they enjoy D3, so it really wouldn't make them any more money than WoW does now, and it would turn off people who like D2, such as myself, if there is no single-player option or free online play, so they wouldn't have that extra sales. Basically they'd just be taking money out of their own mouths by making a new game that would simply take away from their own fanbase without giving those not already interested in their already-existing game (WoW) a reason to buy something new.

Just my two cents. My fear for D3? That it won't happen. Hope I'm wrong, though.
