Windy Druid (PvP) Best Helm?

Looking over the various available helms, it seems to me that Jalah's mane is the best choice. It definitely seems better than Ravenlore, and even though Fenris' guide says that Shako is better, I still believe that Jalah's is the best choice. Obviously it's pretty close, more life and mana and +2 working towards BO, or FHR and great resists.

What do yall think? Also, a godly FCR resist +skills circlet seems good, but it also seems tough to find one.

Well it depends on the rest of the gear. If you already have 99% cast rate {or enough to get whatever breakpoint you wanted}, and you use a cta on switch, then a shako is by far the best {its +hp & +2 all skills really beef up battle orders}.

But if you dont use a cta, generaly Jalas or Raven lore are better.

But as the thread's title implies, the best is always a godly cast rate circlet with possible modes;
~+2 dru/ele skill lvls
~+20% cast rate
~+10% fhr
~+up to 30 str/dex
~+20% res all
~+2 sockets
~+30% frw
~+elephants prefix {+hp/mana to clvl, like a weaker shako}
~+overall hit points {up to +60}
~other gravy modes.

And of course, what makes it godly; some sexy name...rares can spawn with really novel names now :thumbsup:

I suspect a lot of this, like most of these debates will come down to personal choice and what people prefer. Personally, my wind druid ran a Jalal's. But my windy was a hybrid, and the other things on the helm helped out. Also this was in 1.09 when things were a little different. All in all, the incredibly good druid circlet would be the best choice, but it would be the toughest to find. Anybody that has it is either playing a druid, or wants a mint from some druid for it. And the shako is still a very good option in that they are fairly plentiful, and the increases provided by a shako are useful in many ways also..


Let me ask these questions though, is it going to be pvm or pvp? Ladder/non ladder? Hardcore or norm? Those seem to be important questions for the build up.
 
I wrote a long response to this then it didnt go through. So basically what everyone else says it depends on the build, if your using enigma the +str mod on jalals is more or less uselss. Most use shako for the + mana and + life that it gives.

Thanks for the responses. I'll probably test out shako vs Jalahs and see how they compare, unless I can somehow got ahold of a good druid tiara.

I was thinking of using the STR bonus of Jalah's to get high enough to wear my Hel'd Stormshield, but if the life bonus from shako is gonna be enough maybe I shouldnt do that.

Also you've gotta admit Jalah's looks better... shako looks like crap... then again I am using BP enigma so whats the difference anyway?

I have a similar question to this (i dont play druids but i'm trying to trade a druid ammy), what is the best druid ammy? Mara's or a crafted ammy w/ +2 druid and 19fcr and mana/mana regen(99 being the breakpoint crafted ammy allows you to hit) people keep insisting maras better but to me it seems like its easier to get resists than fcr on gear
 
people who insist that maras beats a +2 19fcr ammy probably dont know what they are talking about. You are losing a lot of resist but that can usually be made up with the fcr you are saving by using that ammy. However the other mods on the ammy are essential to whether i can call them idiots. I would say at the very least it is about equal to maras with crap mods.

HoTo = 40
Mage = 20
belt = 20
ammy = 19
= 99 fcr.

You free up ring space that can be used to wear rings that give + resist to whatever class you are fighting. You could also use small charms with resist, um helm and shield etc.

what about the 163 bp? has anyone tried that? its obtainable without big gear sacrifices right?

Lidless [20 fcr]
Hoto [40 fcr]
Amulet [20 fcr]
Magefists/Trang's [20 fcr]
2x fcr rings [20 fcr]
Arach belt [20 fcr]
=170 fcr

or you can use griffon's eye if you want that +skill too, haha, and you still can use enigma!
 
I would prob. sacrifice HoTo for wiz and put some bul / soj rings on instead, losing 1 skill but gaining much more IMO.

edit: After thought . with godly fcr you would be better off w/ HoTo.

 
Peronally I dont think it would be best to go for the final 168 breakpoint as a druid... you're just going ot be giving up too much. You wont have any DR except Enigma, your resists will suffer, and you'll just die too fast. Maybe if you're playing a good sorc thats keeping way ahead of you put the gear on to reach 168 but otherwise I wouldn't.
 
sorcs only got to hit 105 fcr for an 8 frame cast, druids have to hit 99 just to not suck royally (12 frame), the most common gear i see to hit 99 in duels is hoto + arach + trangs gloves + lidless, by replacing mara's w/ this ammy and lidless w/ stormshield or sanctuary you get max block and far better resists..., also damage reduction in the case of stormshield

shael shael CoA would be better vs. trappers IMO. Talk about massive fhr.
 
No one use the runeword lemistdol on druid's helm lol I recently make one on a +3 tonado +3 hurricane its awsome :) but the downside is lose life compare to shako but its good all arround.
