Will you get better runes from the Forge if..

If you finish the quest in a 8 players game? If yes, do you have to be in the same party with them?

Or can you just solo the quest in the 8 players game (i.e. not in party) and still get rune quality & quantity same as 8 players MF bonus?

Many Thanks.

Nope, every rune's chance is still the same 1/11 no matter how many players, how many monsters you killed, and how handsome you are.

If then, what factors can affect rune drop?

1) Game difficulty?
2) Superunique Bosses?
3) Acts? (like: V > IV > ... I)
4) others?

Or none of the above? Thanks.

well if you have more players in a game the monsters will drop more items. So there is a higher chance of runes I believe. But the odds for hrs are still pretty low regardless. in fact (and this is my personal experience) most of the hrs I found was in games where I was by myself or with another friend.

I forget the exact number, but you get at least four times as many drops in an 8-player game, so if you think about it you've at least quadrupled your chance to find runes of any kind on that run. Mind you you'll probably be going through it a lot slower.

But as for the Forge, there's nothing you can do. I read on here a couple of days ago it does increase the number of gems that drop though.

The only thing that effects rune drops from monsters is what runes those monsters are able to drop. Meaning that they can either drop a certain rune or they cannot, and otherwise you can't effect the odds of any one drop being a rune.

Oh and yes, more players in a game (that have not already completed their forge quest) will result in more gems dropping. They have to be in your party though I think, and probably in the same Act to boot. It really is a **** move to rob them of their forge quest though.

Yeah, I always leave the party when they get near the Forge.

...you get a better roll? Yes. That's it, no other questions or answers about this subject, please. Good night; the show's over; go home.

I didn't read the thread. No.

Thanks for the quick reply!

So MF does not helping/affecting on runes at all?
Just for reference, MF does exactly what it says: Magic Find. So, only magic item drops are affected, and since runes are white, MF has nothing to do with it.

well it is not called unique drop, but I gues higher MF gives better chance of higher unique drops too.

To some extent, yes.

There are diminishing returns associated with MF.

Uniques get the least returns.

I've had that happen twice. Once when I just was starting new again and a friend said he'd help me clear the forge. I never even saw a rune fall :(. later I found out he had pickit. At the time he tried telling me that the forge didnt drop any rune. Another time was when a friend asked me to go to a game where 2 other of her friends were. She said she needed diablo. I became distracted clearing chaos, next thing I knew they stole my forge. Nethless to say neither one of them is on my buddy list now
