Why this crafted ring require such high lvl?

Why this crafted ring require such high lvl?

Storm Spiral Ring:

95 to AR
6% mana leech
+5 energy
+26 life
+16 mana
regenerate mana 10%
fire resist +7%

It requires lvl 96. It will be a long time before even my highest lvl character can use this. How is require lvl of crafted items calculated?

probably because of the mana leech. ive found a plain blue ring with just mana leech on it and its required lvl was like 60-70... pretty stupid when you compare it to a manald heal ring, which has 7% mana leech and some other pretty cool mods. its required level is only 15. whats up with that?

edit: ive also found a grand charm with +1 maximum damge that had a required lvl of something like 80+. now seriously.. WTF IS UP WITH THAT???

6% Mana Leech --> Requirement level of 74.

Because your crafted ring spawned with 4 affixes*, that adds +22 to the highest Rlvl found on your ring (7% FR - Rlvl 3, 95 AR - Rlvl 12, 26 life - Rlvl 43, 6% ML - Rlvl 74).

In this case it was the 74, so 74 + 22 = Rlvl 96.

If you had spawned 5% instead of 6%, it would be Rlvl = 66. That's a 30 Rlvl difference for 1% ML. Unfortunate, no?

* Rlvl boosted by 3x + 10, where x = number of affixes.

small nitpick - it's 3x + 10, where x = the number of random affixes that spawned.
